"Okay, I know you're all excited because it's your last day before break, but that doesn't mean you can act out and ignore me."

We all let out quiet groans, staring blankly at our English teacher.

Christmas break started tomorrow, and we all just wanted to get out of here. We had one more class after this one, and then we were off until after New Years.

"We're all excited to get out of here, so I'll give you your assignment and let you have some time to yourselves." Our teacher passes out packets, great, we have work over our damn vacation. "This looks like a lot, but it's just a few little quizzes. Finish this packet and your books over break."

With sighs, we all put our packets away and get to doing whatever. If we were smart, we'd start now, but who cares?

As I slip my earbuds in I feel someone kicking my chair. Goddammit Calum.

"Yes?" I let out a quiet huff.

"Talk to us," Luke shrugs at me. "We're bored."

"What am I supposed to do about that?" I snort. "I don't know how to entertain you." They're coming over to Calum's at three, so I'll be spending most of the day with them anyways.

"You're already doing a great job, just keep being semi annoyed and rolling your eyes at us." Ashton claps.

"You're always so annoyed with me when we're at school, but any other time you're fine. Why is that, Em?" Calum laughs quietly, making me roll my eyes.

"Because at school you're annoying." I give a shrug.

Calum's not that bad. Just sometimes at school he gets on my nerves. But I'm also more on edge when we're at school.

For some reason the boys find me making sarcastic and annoyed comments toward them entertaining. So that's what we do for most of the class, them even purposely annoying me in the slightest. In French, Ashton and Michael make weird faces at me behind the teachers back but end up getting caught and in trouble.

And then, when we finally get out, it's like a mob. Everyone's rushing to get out of school as soon as possible because we don't have to come back for a bit.

I decide to wait for the crowd to disperse, which happens very quickly. Then I head straight to my locker, where Calum is already waiting.

"I figured you'd wait for everyone to leave," he chuckles as I open my locker. "We have about an hour before the boys show up at my house." I nod, slamming my locker shut as we begin to walk to his house.

We enter his empty house, walking into the kitchen and both spit our gum out, getting something to drink.

"You want anything?" He offers. I give a slow shake of my head, seeing the corners of his mouth turn down but he closes the fridge and says nothing.

I've been eating more since I've been here, and I haven't self harmed either. And I've only smoked a few times, usually not even here. Things have just been going well for me.

I had also been going to therapy once a week, sometimes we'd change up the days. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I still don't enjoy it. Last session we decided to slow it to once every two weeks because she said I had been making good progress and was happy I decided to stay at Calum's because it was good for me.

We stand around in the kitchen for most of the hour, before heading upstairs to drop off our bags that we probably won't even think about until it's almost too late and we need to start our homework. While we're up there, I lie on his bed and groan.
