;emily;

With a sigh, I put away my maths homework. I was so frustrated with it now, having no idea what I was even doing. Calculus is too confusing for me.

I grab my pack of cigarettes and open my window, climbing out of it. As the wind blows, I cover the lighter so the fire doesn't go out. I take a deep breath, blowing out and watching the wind whip away my smoke into nothingness.

"Emily!" I hear a confused voice shout from below. "Where the fuck is she?" It's Luke, but I know for a fact his friends are with him.

"Shit," I mumble, striking my cigarette out against the tiles of the roof. I put the lighter in the pack, and put them in my sweatshirt pocket to hide them. Guess my secret spot on the roof isn't secret anymore.

"What the hell?" I hear as my legs swing to the window. I basically limbo in before standing up and slamming it shut.

"Why are you in my room, jackass?" I ask, basically only to Luke. The other three just open up my window and look out.

"Mum wanted me to come get you for dinner." He rolls his eyes at me, gesturing towards downstairs. With a shrug, I hop onto my bed.

"Not hungry."

When I speak those words, Luke gets annoyed. But the other three boys look at me worriedly.

"I had a late lunch. I'll eat later." I huff, being honest. I made myself macaroni and cheese about three hours ago.

"Just come downstairs and eat." Luke snaps, me giving in. I'll have a small plate I guess. Calum notices me getting up and smiles a bit, happy I'm eating. I was going to eat later but whatever.

I follow them downstairs, smiling at Liz and Andrew before getting the smallest piece of lasagna humanly possible.

"Is that all you're eating?" Liz asks, confused and almost a little bit concerned.

"I made a late lunch a few hours ago, wasn't very hungry." I assure her with a smile. She nods, sitting down.

I take a seat at the counter. Luke, his parents, and Ashton have gathered around the table but Michael and Calum sit on both sides of me at the counter.

I give them small, questioning looks but they both smile. I ignore it, knowing they're just checking up on me. They think I can't handle myself after walking in on me like that, but I'm okay. I've always been okay. I have to be.

Despite having a small piece, I finish eating at the same time as Calum. He must have really scoffed that down fast. I knew he ate fast, the boys are here all the time, but I've never seen him eat at lightning speed before. He follows me up and out of the kitchen, and I assume he's going to Luke's room, but he comes into mine.

"Um, Calum?" He nods, looking up from where he's lying on my bed with his head in his hands. "What are you doing?"

"I'm hanging out with you, duh." He rolls his eyes like its the most obvious answer. I watch as he adjusts his beanie and pulls his shirt up a bit, it was getting lower as he lied on his stomach.

He was wearing some grey sweatpants, a black tank top, and his beanie. They had all spent the night here, and just didn't get dressed. Or leave yet. I was pretty sure they wouldn't be leaving until early tomorrow afternoon.

"Okay... but why?" I laugh a bit, sitting next to him, watching him roll upside down so he's looking up at me and his heads on my lap.

"Am I not allowed to want to hangout with you?"

"Actually, no you aren't. I'm your best friends foster sister. You shouldn't bother trying to get close to me anyway, I won't be here much longer." I shrug, looking at my room and seeing that I haven't really unpacked much.
