Chapter 14: First Impressions

Recap: "My mother used to do this when I first gone into heat. Ur father wasn't there to help, he was doing pack training with his father. It always made me feel safe."

I stare at my mother in awe, wishing I could be just like her.

"And don't you worry darling, Jake will be here soon. I promise."

Jake's POV:

I kept thinking on how to explain to Paige about my past without her freaking out. But like my wolf said, I need to tell her. I hear a slight growling behind me. I turn around only to see nothing. I walk hesitantly on. I left Cassy back at another hiding spot, deep in the woods. I hear another sharp growl, turning my head to a snarling black wolf. I then shift into my dark red wolf and snarl at the other wolf threat. I smell the wolf's scent and recognize it's the alpha of Red Moon Pack. My mates father.

'So much for a first impression'

I then see his fellow pack warriors surround me, growling and snapping their jaws. The alpha then shifts back into human form, leaving his bare body in the cool breeze. I shift back into my human form to stand face to face with the alpha.

'I could beat his ass any day, just let me take over and I will kill him' my wolf begged.

'Killing him would cause our mate to hate us, so no' I snarled at my wolf.

"So you're the rogue my daughter has been running to."

"Yes sir."

"Do you know what happens when someone messes with my family mutt?"

'Well I'm assuming he wants to kill me.'

"It's punishable by death sir."

He looks at me in pure astonishment.

'What the hell did I do?'

"I've never met a rogue that respected me. What are you trying to do son?"

"I just don't want to be on your bad side sir."

"Well mutt, it's really late for that. Peter! Jayden! Put the rogue in the pack cell where he can rot." He snarled louder making me growl fiercely at him.

"Be careful, he has Alpha blood in him."

I struggle out of their grip, only to be held down on the ground. I feel a sharp pain in my neck.

"Nighty night mutt."

I begin to fall asleep as the drug begins to flood my system...
