Chapter 21: Truth To Be Told

Recap: Paige had this look of regret in her eyes, as if about to cry. I pull her in my arms, rocking her back and forth. She looks at her sister, Lily, with tears in her eyes...

"I know Lils, I know..."

Paige's POV:

"Do you think your parents will find out?"

I turn over in my bed to look at Jake, his eyes wandering with fear as he stares at my ceiling.

"Of course they are going to find out, we marked each other. They would be able to smell our scent joined together."

He stares at the blank ceiling, his eyes soft and lost.

"Are you okay babe?"

He turns over and looks at me. He suddenly hugs me and starts crying his eyes out. I cuddle him tightly, rubbing my hand on his shaking back. He lifts his head up with his red, sore eyes.

"Paige, I have to tell you something. Please, please don't be mad at me. Okay?"

I nod my head, worried what's bothering him. I guess I'm gonna find out...

Jake's POV:

I stare into her beautiful eyes, filled with confusion and worry. Since this morning, I was mind linking Cassy to get some advice. She told me since we mated, that Paige has the right to know the truth about me. I'm scared, no, terrified to tell my mate my past.

"Look Paige, I'm not who you think I am. I'm not the perfect guy or perfect wolf. I know you might think I am, but I'm not. My past is filled with a lot of hurt and pain, some of it is still there. My cousin, Cassy, she is the only family that stayed. My father, he's the Alpha of the Dark Forest Pack, or was the alpha. Apparently my younger brother took over when he turned 16. My father hated me more then anything. He used to..."

My mate put her hand to my face and wiped the tears that were unknown to me.

"You don't have to tell me if your..."

"No, Paige, you need to hear this."

I take a deep breath and stand up to open the window. I Looked outside to see the pups of the pack playing tag in wolf form.

'Just wait till Paige has our pups!' My wolf shouted. I smile to myself and wonder what it would be like.

"Jake?"

Damn it Jake, you were talking to your mate!

"Sorry. Back to what I was saying,so my father used to beat me, and so did the rest of the pack but mostly my father would physically and mentally beat me."

I seen her tense up and her eyes red with anger, the eyes of an alpha. I grab her hand and she calms down instantly.

"Back to what I was saying, my whole family beat me and eventually I fell into depression. I used to cut but I got angry that they would heal right away. So I ended up using silver knives. I cut usually on my arms and stomach. I also tried killing myself multiple times.

I lifted my shirt up so she could see the deep scars in my flesh. I showed her my arms and wrists, memories flooding back as I stared at them. She hugs me close, but let's go and stares into my eyes. I wish she didn't let go...

"Look I know what your thinking, that I'm stupid, a loser, and you probably want to just leave me to find another guy. I wouldn't blame you I mean look..."

I was cut off by the feeling of her soft, sweet lips on mine. She stares into my eyes once again.

"I'm never, ever leaving you. I do not care what your past was because that doesn't effect us. It doesn't effect my love for you. Jake, I love you."

I stare at her in shock, but what shocked me most was her last sentence.

'She loves us?!?! I told you we would find the perfect girl!'

"Jake?"

"Paige I... I love you too fuck I love you so much it hurts! I have been waiting forever for you to tell me that!"

I pick her up by her waist and spin her in my arms. I kiss her everywhere on her face. She giggles slightly and I look at her in amazement.

"Paige, how could someone as great as you love someone like me?"

She grabs my face in her hands, making me look like her.

"I love every single little thing about you. You are so damn sexy and it's hard not to jump you right now and make love with you. You are so sweet and kind. Jake, you're my mate and I will always love you no matter what. I'm so happy we are finally fully mated, but I wish it didn't happen so soon. But the point is, I love you for you."

"I love you too Paige."

Just as we were about to kiss, the door slams open.
