Chapter 24: Medical Help

Recap: My wolf was right, he needed help and fast. I turn around and noticed his still laying body is now in human form. I pick him up and carry him throughout the forest. I just hope my family will forgive me for leaving for the first, and last time.

Alpha Dylan's POV: I swiftly rush past the trees and branches along the wooded floor. I quickly run into the pack area and into the pack hospital. I hear people gasp and cough at the retched smell of the body in my arms. Some amazed by the amount of white foam trailing on the floor.

"Where is Charles, I need him ASAP!" I search franticly for Dr. Charles, the best doc we have here. He comes running into the main lobby, a wild look on his face. "My god alpha, what happened?"

He then brings me into a medical room and set the rouge on a table. "I was, um, taking a run and he jumped out of nowhere and before he could lunge, he like had a spaze attack or something and foam came from his mouth, do you know whats wrong?"

"Not now but I could run some test on him. Bonny, can you get a cotton swab? Alpha, honestly I'm more worried about what the foam is, it could be infectious and spread. But it's not likely, this poor fellow could just have rabies or an infection with his throat."

I knew this 50 year old man could figure this out, he grew up in a medical family.

"So rumor is going around that you tried to leave, I'm guessing that's true because you met him. Am I right Alpha Dylan?" I look at him hesitantly, a small tear rolling down my cheek.

"Yea, it's true..."

Jake's POV:

I listen with sorrow as I hear my mate cry with her family. Only, without her father. I made him leave, he didn't like me. But the strange thing was that Paige hasn't left me yet. Usually people leave me after I screw up, and I definitely screwed up this time. I want to leave, to make her life better. But of course I'm gonna be selfish, at least that's what my mother told me.

Paige walks out of her mothers room and stares at me. she just stood and stared. Even with tears down her face she looks beautiful.

"Jake..." She runs up to me and wraps her arms around my torso. She hugs me so tight I can barely breathe, I didn't know she was this strong!

I cuddle her into my arms, holding her with comfort.

But this is all my fault, I overheard the fight. I'm sure everyone in the house could. God I'm such a terrible mate, I should've never fallen in love with Paige, I should've never let her love someone like me. I'm just ruining her life.

'Just talk to her about it, please don't runaway from our mate...'

'But it's all my fault, it always is. Our father told us it's always going to be my fault, and now I see he was always right about me. I should have just given up when I had the chance...'

'Stop talking like that. Paige loves us no matter what we do, don't you even dare try and give up on her. What our father told us wasn't true. None of it was true. Be here for Paige, be here for me, be here to show our parents what we've become. They told us we wouldn't have a mate, look at us now. You don't realize it now, but we've grown mentally and physically. '

I look down at my beautiful mate, wondering how I am so lucky to have found her. I wonder what my parents would have thought.

'They probably would have told her how worthless we are and how she should just leave us'

My wolf is right, they would do that. In a heartbeat.

Paige looks up at me smiles, her pearly white teeth, her sparkling eyes, her rosy cheeks. I'm in love with it all. Every inch of her body I love.

"How am I so lucky to have you Jake?" Still with her eyes agaze, she caresses my cheek ever so slightly, memorizing the sculpt of my jaw and cheekbones.

"Paige, you are not lucky to have me. I should be worthless to you. I..."

She cuts me off with her lips on mine, both of us in a heavy make out session. We gasp for air when we draw apart, her clinging on my shoulders.

"Do not, and I mean, do not ever say you are worthless. I may not know much about how you feel, but I know damn well that I have fallen for you. You are mine and only mine. Jake, you are my mate and no one in this world could change that. I wouldn't let it happen. I know we will make it, no matter what it takes. Even if we have to get through to my dad. You are not worthless to me and you never will be. I love you Jake, and please do not ever forget that."

Then she landed her soft lips onto mine, and forever bliss.
