Brooklyn reflected on how the past week had been for her.

Could it be possible that she had made a friend out of Luke?

No. That couldn't be right. She didn't have the proper skills to be going out and around and making friends with other people. Well, she technically did have the ability to rise on the social radar of popularity, but her choice was to not go down that path. She didn't want it. Never again. And neither was she going to have it either.

But for Luke, that wasn't the plan that he had had in mind. He was putting himself out there, something that he's never done before. It was new to him, and he couldn't help it or change it. But he was looking to accomplish the goal of befriending Brooklyn. He was definitely stepping out of his shell, and it didn't make sense to him that she was the reason why.

Brooklyn was on her bed, sitting cross legged and reading a book about the Pythagorean Theorem, when she heard a knock on her front door.

Her mother was out, and she was home alone. She certainly wasn't expecting anyone, and she didn't think her mother was either.

Whoever it was knocked again on the door, louder this time. Her eyebrows furrowed together, and she put her book down and got off her queen sized bed to go downstairs and answer the door.

Once she got there and answered the door, on the other side of it, was Luke.

"Um, hi" she awkwardly answered it. She wasn't expecting to see him here on a Saturday morning.

Luke was wearing a plain white shirt, that hugged his biceps and obvious muscles. He was wearing black skinny jeans and black vans to complete his look. And don't forget his signature lip ring and blonde quiff. His hands were stuffed in his pockets as he stood awkwardly in front of her.

"Hi" he answered her back, sending her a shy and unsure smile.

They stood in silence for awhile, before Brooklyn got the courage to ask him the question that she wanted the answer too.

"Not to be rude or anything, but what are you doing here?" she asked him.

"Oh, yea. Um, I thought that we could get to work on that project that we have for History. Better get to work right?" he gave her an awkward chuckle before looking down in slight embarrassment.

Luke wanted to work on the project, yeah, but he really wanted to get to know Brooklyn better. He saw the shy girl she was, how she held in so much of what she was really feeling. He saw all of that, because the truth was, he was like that too. Shy and awkward at first, but a nice person when you got know him better. He wanted to be that person around Brooklyn.

And Brooklyn wanted to be that person around Luke as well. Just like him, she saw right through his façade. Right through him. His biggest give away to how he was truly feeling was in his eyes. How he looked at her, with curiosity but shyness. She was pretty sure that she was looking at him the same way as well.

She nodded her head, and after a while of silently staring at him, she stepped aside and let him in.

When she closed the door behind him, she then realized what she was wearing.

A lilac tank-top, paired with light grey booty shorts accompanied by her black ankle socks. Her usual Saturday-home alone-attire. Her long blonde hair was tied into a high ponytail, some stray hairs falling down and framing her face.

Not exactly the type of clothes that she wanted anyone outside her family circle to see her wearing. And now Luke was standing in the front hallway of her house, staring at her, and what she was wearing.
