"That b*stard!" Luke swore angrily.

"Getting upset wont help anyone, Luke" Brooklyn softly told him and he nodded at her before she kissed his cheek.

"Alright so now what do we do? Confront Marcus?" Luke asked her.

"Wait, Marcus as in the Marcus that you were dating when you broke up with Luke?" Calum asked. Biting her lip, she nodded.

"Why was he the one who was called? What do they have in common?" Ashton asked.

"Nothing. That's the thing. Kyle never had any siblings—just cousins and one or two baby nephews. And Marcus doesn't have any siblings either. So they can't be brothers or anything" Brooklyn told them as they walked across the street to the McDonalds there.

"Then why would he want to be informed when Kyle got out of the hospital? And if so, what would they be doing together?" Michael asked as they entered the resturant and sat down at a booth.

"I don't know" she told them, frustrated. Ashton Michael and Calum sat across from her while Luke sat beside her, and she rested her head on his shoulder as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"Do you guys think that it was a coincedence that he started dating Brooklyn then? If he knew something, or eveything, about Kyle, then he must've known about your past" Michael told the group. They agreed with him.

But what would Marcus want with Brooklyn? That was another question that she had.

"Maybe we should go and talk to him?" Calum suggested, and everyone turned their heads to look at him.

"Do you really think that that's a good idea? I mean, how will he react to what we know if he never wanted us to find out? He might go batshit crazy" Michael ruffled his own hair as he spoke.

"I agree with Michael," Ashton announced, "We shouldn't go around accusing him until we have some more proof"

"Proof like what?" Brooklyn asked, leaning more against Luke as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Stalk him?"

"Absolutly not, Michael" Calum shot down, smiling while he said it.

"I know," Brooklyn said, getting everyones attention as she raised her head off of Luke's shoudler, "I could ask to talk to him about us, make him think I want to get back together with him or something while I also snoop around his house to see if I can find anything"

"No," Luke tightened his arm around her waist, "I don't want you to risk getting hurt if this guy really is related—or is—a physco"

"But Luke, it's a good idea," Ashton added, and Calum and Michael agreed, "Let's just-"

"She just came out of an accident, I'm not gunna put her back into one"

"Luke," Brooklyn spoke up, "I'll be fine. I promise"

"But B-"

She took his hand off her waist and held it, intertwining their fingers together, "I'll look both ways throughout my days, and never die without you" she spoke. It was something her mother said to her when she was a child, and was about the age where she was learning road safety.

"Fine" he hesitantly responded, and she gave his hand a squeeze before turning back to the others.

"So, this is what we'll do"
