Brooklyn walked inside of her house after she waved off Marcus. Her lips tingled slightly at the feeling of having Marcus' lips over hers only seconds ago. She hadn't kissed anyone in over 2 years.

Well, I probably kissed Luke, she thought, seeing as he used to be my boyfriend for who knows how long.

But Luke wasn't her boyfriend anymore, Marcus was now.

But even that thought made her insides feel weird.

Shaking off the feeling, she wandered up the stairs and into her bedroom, flopping down on her bed, taking out her phone to send a text to Luke.

She wanted to apoligize, to explain things to him. She didn't like the feeling of him being mad at her.

She wanted him happy.

She didn't know why, but it felt like her obligation to make him happy.

So instead of texting him, she called him, seeing as his number was saved in her phone.

She pressed his number, holding her phone up to her ear as she waited for him to hopefully pick up.

Which he did.

After she tried 18 times.

"What do you want?" he answered when he finally picked up the phone, and Brooklyn sat up straighter.

"He's not my boyfriend" the words came tumbling out of her mouth before she could stop them. She didn't mean to say those words, considering that she was Marcus' girlfriend.

"What?"

"Marcus. He's not my boyfriend" she repeated, cringing at the fact that she was lying to him.

"Stop lying to me" Luke simply replied, and Brooklyn furrowed her eyebrows together.

"How would you know that I'm lying?" she asked him.

"I know you, Brooklyn, have you already forgotten that we used to date?" he reminded her, and she facepalmed.

"What I meant to say was that... he wasn't my boyfriend at the time that he said we were. I want you to know that" she admitted to him, laying down on her back with her phone still pressed against her ear.

"Whatever. Why should it even matter to me anymore?" Luke sighed to himself, continuing, "I mean, we arn't dating anymore, so I guess I shouldn't have yelled at you. I'm sorry" he apoligized.

"Luke, you have nothing at all to apoligize for. It should be me. I stuck up for Marcus when he was the one who was lying. I'm sorry"

Luke was never able to stay mad at Brooklyn. He rarely ever did when they were together.

"It's alright, I guess" he sighed, knowing that as long as Brooklyn and him wern't dating, it would never be alright to him.

"Great, I'm glad we got things cleared up," Brooklyn smiled to herself, not sensing the broken heartedness in Luke's voice, "Hey, you wanna go out for some frozen yogurt?" she asked before she had thought through it properly.

Luke was suprised that she had asked him to as well.

"I mean," Brooklyn facepalmed herself once again, feeling like an idiot, "I'm sorry, you're probably busy and have better stuff to do"

"No, it's fine. Let's do it" he agreed, which made Brooklyn sit up on her bed.

"Really?" she asked in desibelief, not expecting him to agree.

"Sure, I guess. I'll come around to your house in about half an hour. Is that okay?" he asked her. Luke wanted to spend as much time with Brooklyn in any way, shape, or form that he could.

"Yea, that sounds like a plan. I'll... see you then" she smiled to herself.

"I'll see you then" he repeated before he hung up the phone.

Brooklyn took her phone away from her ear, smiling down at it weirdly.

She was happy.

Which was weird.

The last time she was happy, or could remember being happy was about 2 years ago.

But I guess the pictures on her walls and on her dresser were true.

Luke made her happy.
