Brooklyn looked at Luke. He was watching the TV, oblivious to her looking at him. She was glad. She didn't want him to catch her staring.
Brooklyn and Luke hadn't touched the project, since Luke had came over, announcing that he wanted to work on it with her. The had talked about all of their interests. They were basically spending their entire time together, getting to know each other inside out.
And they had barely just scraped the surface of each other. They knew a lot. More than the average person, I guess you could say. But they both had secrets. Stuff that they didn't like sharing with everyone else. Brooklyn had her fair share of secrets as well as Luke did. But neither of them were going to bother telling the other one.
After their deep discussion, Brooklyn's mother finally returned home from wherever she had departed to in the first place. She saw Luke and talked to him for a while before she allowed them to get back to work, and she went upstairs to rest.
So Luke and Brooklyn turned on the TV, switching channels before they arrived at their favorite show, 'How I met your Mother'. They both adored the show, just as much as they adored math and history and penguins and dogs and... well, you get the point.
Brooklyn couldn't help but notice the way Luke's eyes would crinckle a little when he would be drinking slightly, whenever he laughed, or truly smiled. Or the way he would some times subconsciously take his lip ring in between his teeth and tug at it. He seemed to like doing that a lot.
She looked away before he could catch her gaze, knowing that she wasn't observing him, but creepily staring at him. She didn't want to creep him out. She wanted him to be calm and comfortable. Not awkward.
But Luke knew that she had been looking at him. He could feel it. Just like how he had done the same thing to her about 5 minutes before she did. But he couldn't help himself. He thought she was a true beauty. Her eyes is what he could never stop himself from staring at or into. He adored them.
The color was more green then anything else. But they had specks of gold, blue and a slight tinge of turquois sometimes. And he loved that combination together. It looked gorgeous. Or, at least it did on her. And the way that her blonde hair flowed over her shoulders made her even more breathtakingly beautiful to him.
But he tried his best to focus on the show that was on the TV. His favorite show, as well as Brooklyn's. They both had so much in common, and he loved that. He wanted them to be friends, and it was becoming easier than he thought it would. He didn't know that they would share any sparked interests with each other.
When Luke had left later that evening, they had completed 2% of their project, but had spent the entire night getting to know each other beyond their history class bond. When Brooklyn had said 'goodnight' to Luke, she had turned off the TV and went straight to her room, flopping down on her large bed after she had changed into another pair of shorts and a tank-top.
She was now brushing out her hair, when she heard a tap on her window.
And then another.
And then another.
And then another.
She placed her brush down on her desk, getting up and walking over to her window. She smiled, looking across her window to see Luke standing in his own bedroom, looking across at her.
She once again, felt slight embarrassment in what she was wearing, but she let it slide, seeing as she was planning to go to bed shortly.
"Hi" Luke greeted her after she had opened her window.
"Hi" she said back to him.
"You wanna talk some more?" he offered her, his voice sounding slightly hopeful. She did want to talk to him some more. But how? They couldn't possibly chat across from each other. They would surely be heard, and disturb a bunch of neighbors and other people that had either already gone, or were getting ready to go to bed.
