Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Her eyes fluttered open as she groaned, her head slightly aching and the consistent beeping in the background was not helping at all.
When her eyes finally adjusted to the light, she slowly sat up, gingerly touching her head once she was fully upright.
She looked around the rooms and took in her surroundings, realizing that she was in a hospital room, one that was similar to the one she was in the last time she had woken up.
She blew out a breath of air and ran a hand through her hair as she reached over to the bedside table and grabbed the tall glass of water, downing the glass quickly. Her throat was sore, extremely sore. But the water helped.
She was extrememly exhausted though, her eyes drooping every so often and her body feeling slightly numb and she yawned.
Once she placed the empty glass back onto the table, the front door opened, a tall blonde coming in. He was looking down, a coffee cup in his hand.
When he closed the door behind him, he turned around and looked up, his eyes wide and the coffee cup falling from his hand.
"Brooklyn" he whispered, the name coming out airy and light.
She smiled at him, a watery smile because she was so happy to see him. Her eyes welled.
"Hello" she said and yawned.
"Do you," he paused to swallow the lump in his throat, "Do you remember?"
"Yes"
A wide smile spread across Luke's face, his eyes welling up as well. He rushed to her side and wrapped his arms around her waist, burying his face in the crook of her neck.
"I missed you. So much" he whispered, his breath fanning across her neck and tickling her skin.
"How long have I been in here?" she asked, both of them still not letting go of eachother.
"Three days. Three excrutiatingly long days of sleepless nights and just hoping that nothing bad had happened to you" he told her, not letting go.
Their moment was abruptly interupted, the door opening and a doctor coming in.
"Brooklyn States? You're awake. That's very good news" he was the doctor from before, when he was trying to figure out what was wrong with her.
"Hi" she whisperd tiredly and yawned, leaning back onto the bed as Luke let go of her. She closed her eyes, the heart monitor started slowing down.
Luke panicked, "W-what's happening to her?"
"Relax Sir, it's just the sedation. Eight doses as we tried to calm her down," he chuckled, embaressed alittle, "It's just wearing off. Nothing to worry about"
Luke nodded and sighed in relief.
"Ms.States, what do you remember last?" the doctor asked her, and Brooklyn, tired as f*ck, opened her eyes and tried to stay awake to answer him.
