Lapis disappeared, and I fell to my knees. The tall gem picked up Connie and knocked her out.

I honestly don't remember much after that. All I know is that we were trapped in cells, that were impossible to escape.

"Let me out!" Jasper yelled, banging against her cell.

"Jasper, there is a zero percent chance of you escaping, so the sooner you stop the better!"

Connie's POV

I woke up. But where? I looked around and saw nothing useful.

There was some kind of force field blocking me from the hallway, but I could walk right through it.

"Must be a gem thing..." I remembered Lapis.

"Lapis!" I ran through the halls searching.

"But Garnet-"

"I don't care, Pearl! It's Yellow Diamond, I'm sure of it!" I ducked into a hallway as two of the gems walked past.

"Let's check on the kindergartener. I don't care if she's on our team..." the voices faded away, and I ran on.

"Lapis!" The gem was on her knees with her back to me.

"Connie, just get back to your cell. If we just do what they say they'll let us live." Had she given up?

"Lapis, I'm not leaving this spot without you." I protested. "You can't sit in this cage forever!"

"Who said I was going to?"
