Yellow's fountain is a special place. I'd never tell the guys, but sometimes my "missions" are excuses to visit.
"So we just have to put her in the water?" Charoite asked, looking up at me.
"Yeah. If it still works." I grabbed Bloodstone, being careful not to touch her gem, and carried her over to the fountain. I laid her on the ledge and looked into the empty hole before me.
"Don't most fountains have water?" Marshmellow asked sarcastically.
"Is that sass?" I challenged.
"OH YOU WANT SASS? I'LL SHIW YOU SASS YOU DUMB QUARTZ!" The top of her head set on fire as she spoke.
I glanced back at Connie, who was standing in between Lapis and Peridot, both turned away and in no mood to talk. I walked towards Connie, who was begging them to speak.
"Hey, don't waste your breath," I said, nudging her shoulder. "They can go for weeks, months, even Years without speaking. There's nothing you can do to stop them." Connie sighed.
"I know. But it can't hurt to try, can it?" She asked. I started to lead her towards the fountain.
"Not really. But right now, I need you to figure out how to turn on the fountain." Connie peered up at me with wide eyes.
"I thought it was running." She said.
"Well, your mom thought life should be given to those who deserve it, so when she found these healing tears she creates this place so that only she could activate it." Connie nodded, looking around.
"What about that Diamond-shaped spot on the statue in the center? Maybe if I touch that-" I picked Connie up.
"Be careful, kid!" I said, tossing her up to the statue's neck. She climbed around it, eventually fiinding the spot where Yellow's gem would've been. The second her fingers touched it, a rumbling sound appeared and Connie fell down into the water.
I pushed Bloodstone into the water with Connie, and Charoite leaned over to find her friend.
"Bloodstone?" She called out.
"Here!" The Red gem greeted happily. She climbed out.if.the fountain quickly, running to meet Charoite. The two caught each other in a hug, a bright light flashing to reveal a fusion!
She was about as tall as me, which was pretty normal considering the two gems were a little taller than Lapis.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" The gem said in a voice that sounded scared and excited.
"Wow, a fusion!" Connie shouted, running to greet her.
"Pfft. I used to be a fusion..." Ruby muttered.
"What's your name?" Connie asked.
"Coral." The gem said. "I won't be around long, I'm not usually myself."
"What's your weapon?" I asked.
"Well, if you'd like to know," she crossed her arms to summon her weapons from her shoulders, first a spear and then another weapon that I couldn't see because of Connie jumping up and down, and combined them into a crossbow.
"Cool." I said, maybe a bit jealous.
(A/N) So, I had a picture of them and Coral, but it's not on my phone anymore, it's on my dead computer, so...
