Soon, we had helped the town move back in. It was like nothing ever happened.

I was returning to the temple from the ocean, a bubble in my hand.

"Jasper? I have a bubble for you." I stepping the beach hut, dripping water on the floor.

I noticed a.sheet of paper on the fridge. I read it, and smiled.

"I guess I'll have to go in myself." I decided. I opened the door to my room, watching the door drip down until I could step in.

I liked my room, it was filled with water, but the sky was space. I swam through the rock arch that led to Jasper's room.

I emerged through a pool in the floor. I flew up, releasing the bubble .

It crashed into another bubble, making that one crash.

"Oh no!" I ran to the gem. It was small, and looked like it belonged to a gem who wasn't corrupted.

It was small and blue, and- I gasped. It regenerated.

A small blue gem with long light blue hair stop do  front of me.

Her uniform had a pink Rose on it, the symbol if Rose Quartz.

"Hello, I'm Sapphire, " she said calmly.

"I'm Lapis." I hesitated. "Are you Garnet?"

Sapphire sighed. "Not the Garnet you saw. Usually when Ruby and I fuse, it's for love. But Ruby it's been... different. It's because we're both defective. She wanted to prove that defective gems could do anything, and Garnet hasn't been the same since. " A small stream of tears ran down her face.

I remember everything Garnet did. How she was so intent on bringing Connie back to Homeworld.

"Ruby just wanted to be accepted..." I realized that everybody had deeper reasons for everything they did.
"Sapphire, I promise I won't let Jasper bubble you again!" Sapphire smiled, and hugged me.

"Thank you. "
