~ Scaramouche POV ~

It had been a few weeks since I was stabbed in the shoulder—it was healing, but it hurt like hell. The nurse looking after me finally decided that I could be discharged from the hospital—however, I needed to take it easy so my stitches wouldn't rip and cause the wound to open.

I was able to return to school as normal, but I couldn't participate in any physical activity. Great, just my luck. Once I walked on campus, people were staring at me—it was as if their eyes were burning holes right through me.

I kept my hand instinctively on my shoulder—the dull ache sending shivers down my spine. I couldn't tell if the dull ache was from the wound on my shoulder or the one that was in my heart. All of a sudden, I felt someone jump on me.

"Scara! You're back!" An annoyance sang out. It was Childe. I winced in pain as I pulled away from his bear hug.

"Ugh! That hurt you, stupid ginger!" I barked as I shot a glare at him. From the corner of my eye, I saw Lyney.

"Be careful, Childe. Our poor Scaramouche over here is still recovering, aren't you?" Lyney said, looking over at me for confirmation of his point. I brushed my shoulder gently as I nodded my head.

"Yeah... and having you jumping on me like that doesn't exactly help with the healing process," I explained. Childe looked at me with remorse in his eyes.
