Night Off

(Leo's POV)

"Another 2 here! Wait. They're Prince and Princess candidates! Tend to them quick!" narinig kong may sumigaw.

No way. Did we make it?

"Leo..."

Tiningnan ko si Leila na nakasakay sa likod ko ngayon.

"It's alright. We're here. We made it."

"Thank goodness..." sabi niya ng mahina and rested her head on my shoulder.

So, kwento ko sainyo kung anong nangyari samin kanina. No flashbacks needed. Medyo pagod na ako para magflashback, pasensya.

Nung around lunch time eh umulan ng malakas kaya naghanap kami ni Leila ng masisilungan. Nakahanap kami ng mini-cave at dun kami nagpahinga. We were discussing about dun sa riddle na binigay. Wala kaming magets dun. Well, meron naman pero di sila nagfifit.

But then nakakita kami ng mga lights way up the trees. Medyo nagtaka nga kami eh. They were Christmas lights at iba-iba ang kulay nila.

Nagusap kami ni Leila about following them. Kung ano yung susundin naming kulay. Then we noticed that some are brighter than the other. Sabi nga niya yung susundin nalang yung pinakabright but I found it rather wrong.

I know the student council and they won't just let us solve something so easily. At medyo nagdoubt ako. Kasi think about it. If the brightest ones are the ones we should follow, then what's the point of all this? It's so easy to see those lights and follow them. That's not the SCs' way of doing so.

Sabi ko kay Leila na we should just find and follow the dimmest lights. Because if I'm right, then we would find our way to the camp.

Naghanap kami ni Leila, takbo dito takbo dun. It was a very hard race. We were dripping wet and cold. Halos di na kami makakita.

Then natapilok si Leila. She had a small wound on her arm and I think she sprained her ankle kasi di siya makatayo. That's why I had to carry her the rest of the way.

And here we are, being treated sa base camp na sinet up ng SC at staff.

I looked around. Wow lang ah.

Hunger Games? Am I in the Capitol? XD Haha, di joke lang.

Ang high tech kasi nila.

"Rested enough?"

I looked at the side of the bed na hinihigaan ko and saw Kimberly, yung SC Prez and twin ni Sophie.

"Not really. How's Leila?"

Kasi andun si Leila sa isang room, getting her wounds treated.

"She's alright. Only a few scratches." Sagot ni Kim.

"Si Sophie? DIba kasama mo siya?"

"Oh, her? Andun, hinahanap best friend niya. Hahaha."

I looked at her.

"Oh bakit?" tanong niya.

"Why did you come up with a dangerous activity like this?"

A smile etched on her face.
