Many years later August pov

"Shane let's go!" I shouted upstairs of my new apartment. "I'm coming I'm coming.." he rolls his eyes as he comes down stairs putting his head phones in. Meako just shakes his head as I pinch the bridge of my nose. "He's just like you were." He smirks and pokes my ribs gently as our son walks to the car. "No...I was nowhere near that rude to my parents.." he laughed. "No you just never went home " he corrected. I laughed and hugged him closer. "Dad we are going to be late!!" Hailey yelled. Meako gently kissed my shoulder. "Go before she tries to drive to school." I sighed and kissed his forehead before getting into the car Shane leaned his head on the window in the passenger seat Hailey and Star were in the back. I dropped them off at middle school before driving Shane to high school before he jumped out I quickly locked the door. "Dad... seriously?" He glares. I bit my tongue trying not to laugh. "Ok I know you hate this ... but what is going on with you lately?" He rolls his eyes. "I'm not doing this." He grumbles. "Then it looks like you ain't going to school." He immediately looked at me. "Really?" I drove out of the parking lot He looked at me like I was crazy. "Dad the hell are you going?" "We are going to my old house." "You mean to Grandma's and Papa's?" "Nope." I haven't seen my old house where I grew up since I was 13. I am 34 now. I pull over to look at the ambonded place it looks worse than it did before but you can still make out what it used to look like. "What is this?" Shane asked. "Come on.." I Mumbled. He slowly followed me to the front door. "dad where are we?" "This is where I was raised..." He looks around. He rolls his eyes but I gently put my hand on his shoulder. "Look I get it you are a teenager but just listen ok." He sighed. "Fine." This is where me and all your aunts and uncles on my side slept half the time." I showed him a small room that was barely half the size of his room. "What about the other two rooms?" "Well that one was my mom's room and the other was whoever she invited home from the bars room half the time." He looked at me then the room. "Or when my Dad came around it was used for whatever he brought with him." I shrugged and then led him to the kitchen and showed him a crack at the end of it. "This is where my mom knocked out my brother's front teeth." "What?" I nodded. "Your uncle Wyatt he was I think 7 at the time he still has the scar on his lip from where it busted open.""why.." he mumbled "he told our mom he had a crush on his friend...who was a guy." Shane looked at the counter. "Dad i didn't know-" "I know you didn't...me and your father didn't want you to know.." he looks away a little. "When I had to pick you up from that stupid party because you were drunk and passed out in the front lawn and people were scared because you were barely breathing.." I shook my head and sighed. "I was terrified.." "you were angry." He muttered. "Damn right I was..but not at you." He looks at me confused. "I was mad because I didn't tell you about my family sooner." I lean against the wall and he leans against the counter. "You know your uncle River used to have a lot of problems with drinking right." He nodded. "Most of my family does...I did when I was younger..." He nodded and looked at the floor. "You aren't adopted you know this right." He nodded again"then why if you know this already-" "because I wanted him to notice me." He whispered. "What?" He sighed and curls his knees to his chest. "I wanted my crush to think I was cool..or at least not.." he shrugged and wiped his eyes. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. I gently pulled him into a hug. He curls into my shoulder a little like he used to as a kid. "You are definitely my kid." I laughed and shook my head. He smiles and laughs a little. "Come on." He followed me to the car. "So.. you aren't mad.." he mumbled. "I want to talk about this later... but mad at you for liking some one no...I am a little upset that you think drinking makes you cool we are going to talk later ok." He nods. "I pulled back into the school parking lot. He blushed a little looking at a curly haired guy with blonde hair. He sank into his seat a little and pulled up his hood. I laughed a little and covered my mouth. "Dad please if you love me drive me home tell Puba I threw up please." I shook my head and laughed. "Just go tell him hi or something." He whines and sighs before getting out of the car. I smirked and honked the horn he jumped and flipped me off. I laughed as he walked right into whoever he had a crush on. I laughed harder and drove away.

"So how did it go." Meako smirked seeing my evil grin. I hugged him tightly. "Me and you need to talk to our son but it was ok..buy the way we might have a guest coming for dinner in a few weeks." He smiles and shakes his head. "What did you do?" I laughed and told him everything.

Later that night Shane was very smiley at the dinner table and kept texting someone. Hailey smirked as she read over his shoulder. "Shane's got a boyfriend!!" "Hailey!" He yelled and nearly threw his phone across the room but meako caught it. "Hey! You two knock it off." I laughed and shook my head he sighed and gave me a look Shane's whole face was beat red Hailey who unfortunately got my sense of humor was laughing like a little psycho with me star just gently patted Shanes shoulder with a small smile telling me she was trying not to laugh too. Meako was doing the same. "What's his name?" He asked softly. Shane sighed. "His name is Nico.." he Mumbles and gently takes his phone back from meako. "How old is he?" I quickly asked. "Dad.. he's a year older.." I raised an eyebrow. "So he's 15" he blushed and nodded. "You are almost a year older than me." Meako pointed out I sighed. "So when can we meet him." Meako smiles. Shane perked up a little. "You guys want to?" "Of course." Meako smiles. I nodded. "Promise to be nice?" Shane looked more at me than meako. "What are you two looking at me for I'm always nice." Meako laughed and Shabe Snickers Hailey shook her head. And so did Star.
