"My car broke down", I lie.

"How'd you get home then?"

"My car."

"I thought you said it broke down."

"My friend fixed it."

"Mom! I'm home okay let's just leave it at that. It wasn't anything serious god."

"I'm sorry I'm just a concerned mother."

"Look I appreciate it but theres nothing to be concerned about, mom."

"Don't talk to me like I'm some little kid."

"Mother I am not. Are you even listening to what I'm saying? Your causing something that doesn't even need to happen. You intrepid it wrong."

I huff. Why did she have to be this way? My mother god!

Someone knocks at my door and I hurry up an get it. Who would come to my house this late?

"Why did you leave", Jack ask coming into my house.

"Honey is everything-Jack?"

"Hi Mrs. Gardner."

"Hello Jack. Is there any reason your here this late at night?"

"Mom!"

"Oh so you still call her that. I didn't think you would because..well because of how you are, not in a bad way."

"What are you taking about?"

"Jack I think it's time for you to leave", my mother rushes.

"No! What does he mean by that, mother!"

Both were silent and I couldn't help but feel my heart start to race. There was something that no was saying.
