"Babe, are you listening?" I hear Jess say as I stare out the window.
"I'm sorry, what?"
"I was saying that Victoria was being such a bitch the other day saying how my poses last week were by far my worst." She scoffs then takes a sip of her iced tea. Oh, model talk. That's why I zoned out.
"She didn't like them?"
"No," she sighs. "And I know for a fact she's lying just to piss me off." I nod, not really knowing what to say.
"Don't listen to her, babe. You know you're a great model," I finally say and that seems to be the right answer since she smiles before starting to text on her phone.
I take a bite of my bagel and look out the window, seeing cars drive by. My eyes catch sight of someone walking through the glass doors of the shop and it's her. She's wearing sunglasses, but once she's in line she removes them. Her gaze drops to her iPhone as she begins to scroll through something. The line moves and she goes up to give her order.
Not too long after she says her thanks and turns to leave with her drink, her gaze lands on mine and she smiles, making her way over.
"Harry," she smiles as she nears the table. Jess finally looks up from her phone to see Madelyn standing there.
"Madelyn, hey," I say, my eyes focused on hers. God, she's beautiful.
Jess clears her throat and I snap my eyes over to her. "Oh, sorry, Madelyn this is my fiancée Jessica. Jessica this is Madelyn, our wedding planner."
"Nice to finally meet you," Madelyn extends her hand out for Jess to shake, but Jess rudely chooses to ignore it as I scold her disapprovingly.
"I guess I'll be on my way then," a frown flashes on her features as she puts her sunglasses back on. "I look forward to working with you both." She says and then leaves. I watch as she walks over to her black Audi.
"I don't like her. Hire someone else," Jess says, bringing my attention back to hers.
"Why?"
"I just don't okay?" she rolls her eyes. "She looks so familiar though, I just can't pinpoint it." She says in thought. It's probably from the restaurant three years ago, but I say nothing.
"I'm not switching planners," I tell her. "I already signed all the paperwork and plus she plans fantastic weddings."
"How would you know?" she raises her eyebrow.
"Well mum says she planned Karen's wedding and I've seen their website, no one seems to have been disappointed with their work."
She huffs at my words. "Whatever, I have to go."
"Jess, we really need to sit and talk about the wedding. We don't even have a date yet." I say as I run my fingers through my hair.
"We'll talk about it later. Kristen wants to have a girl's day."
"Fine, Jess," the words leave my lips sternly, wanting to avoid an argument. She smiles and leans down to kiss my cheek before strutting out of the shop. I sigh and run my fingers through my hair, not really meaning to do it. It's an old habit when I'm stressed or anything really. I just feel like sometimes I care more about this wedding more than she does. And I'm the dude like what the hell?
I finish my bagel and tea and then make my way to my car. I'm off work for the day and I really don't want to go back home so I decide to call one of my mates.
"Harrrry," Luke says once he answers. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"Shut up, man," I laugh. "You busy today?"
