Harry's POV

"Harry," someone shakes my shoulder, the voice not registering yet as I was still in my dream-like state.

"Harry, mate, it's your mum," the voice said again.

My mum? I'm starting to wake up more and once I open my eyes I see that I'm behind my desk where I must have fallen asleep from exhaustion because of staying up very late with Madelyn after her birthday last night.

My gaze falls on my computer screen and I see the photos that I was supposed to be finished with editing.

"Uh-hem," Nathan, who woke me up, clears his throat to get my attention.

"Oh, man, I apologize, not sure what's got into me." I say as my hands run through my hair to smooth out the messy parts even though I know what exactly has gotten into me and that's the beautiful woman that I call mine.

"You're fine. At least it wasn't the bossman," he chuckles.

"You said something about my mum?" I rub at my eyes.

"Yeah she's in the waiting room and she seems pissed, but I wanted to let you know first before she came in...whatever you did, God bless you mate," Nathan raises his eyebrows before exiting.

I only had a few seconds to collect my thoughts before my mum came into the office, glare set.

"Mum, you all right?" I start, not sure of the reason behind her visit.

She made sure the door was shut before speaking.

"No, Harry, I'm not all right because I found out about the lies and deceit that has been going on between you and Jessica's relationship."

Ice washes over me.

"Poor Jessica called me last night crying her eyes out because she said you were being unfaithful but I said no, my son would never do that, but then she said that it's all true, barely getting the explanation out through her sobs." My mum went on.

"Mum, you don't understand-"

"Oh yes, yes I do. I understand quite frankly that you want to be just like your father, leave someone who loves you to fool around with someone else. She's pregnant for god's sake!" she raises her voice but then softens it; not wanting everyone to hear from outside of the door.

"I know and we're waiting on the DNA test," I start to say.

"The baby is yours, why would Jess lie? I've known the girl since she was in grade school."

"Yeah but mum I'm the one who lived with her every day, you didn't so you didn't see what I saw. I know Jessica and if you could just understand that we fell and there's no chance of us picking up the pieces you would see that I'm not happy with her, I never will be after Madelyn-"

"The wedding planner? Harry Edward Styles, I raised you better than this," she says through clenched teeth.

"Yes, mum you raised me to be the man I am, one who follows their heart and does the right thing and that's exactly what I'm doing now, the right thing." There's emotion in my words and I want her to understand. I don't want her to stand in front of me like she is now, where I can see all the shame and disappointment I've placed in her.

She just has to understand...

From where she stands I can tell that she's paying close attention to my every facial expression and tick of my face or hands, a part of her must believe me I think from how her eyes soften a bit, but still she remains stern.
