Chapter 45:The sick woman

(A/N:Just wanting to get to the point.....And like I don't really know what to write about after they got back from Paris, so just think that part up for yourselves)

*1 year after they returned from Paris*
Itami pov
I woke up feeling sick as ever. Like as in, vomit sick. It felt so fucking horrible.

Bolting out of our bed, I kicked the door open & threw myself to the toilet seat, emptying my gut with gooey, gross stuff. In the background, I could hear the shuffling of bed sheets & the slow steps towards the bathroom. As more of that 'delicious' stuff comes out if my mouth, my hair was being lifted up by Ace, worry sprawled all over his face.

"Let it out...."He says in a soothing voice

I was about to answer back, but more puke came out of my mouth. It carried on like that for several minutes, till I stopped & collapsed onto the floor. I felt Ace pick me up bridal style, holding onto me like I was his princess.

"Are you okay now?"He asks
"I want to be...But I just can't...it hurts so much Ace."I whimper
He tenderly kissed me all over my face, making me feel a bit better.
"I want you to be better...I don't want you to be sick."He says
"I know...this has been going on for a while now.."I sigh
Ace laid me down on the bed, the bed dipping underneath me.
"Well whatever it is, I just want it to go away."He says

Climbing into bed with me, he shut off the bed side table light & went to sleep. Me? I was up for an hour till I really got to sleep

*Dream*
Everything kept on flashing...One minute I had started to feel immense pain in my womb & stomach. Then.....then I was in our car on the way to the hospital..I was crying & was yelling all the time in the passengers seat, begging for Nami to drive faster.

Then....then I was in a wheel chair, being taken down a really long hallway. Everything was so dim. Whenever we'd past a room, it would always be the same:Women giving painful birth to a child.

When we finally got to a room, everyone was already there. Like a flick of a switch, I was lying in the bed, also giving birth. Next to me, I was holding onto Ace's hand tightly.

"Ahhhhghh! It hurts!"I scream
"You can do it! Just one more push!"Ace encouraged

With a hard push, I let out a blood curling scream, my toes curling in pain.

But as I screamed....I had said-

"CREED! ALICE!"

*Dream end*
I snapped my eyes open, my alarm clock making a real loud racket. Groaning, I reached over & shut it off.

"Friday...yay.."

Dragging both myself & Ace out of bed, we went downstairs to grab ourselves some breakfast. Though, I felt like I had lost my appetite after spewing all over the place before. Ace, sensing my uncomfort looked up at me.

"Hey,"He says."Are you sure you should go to work today?"He asked
"I should be fine,"I say."It's probably just some bug or something. It'll go away eventually."
Ace gave me a worried glance."Okay.....but if it gets worse, call me okay? I'll take you home if it gets worse."He says
I smile brightly."Thanks Ace."

After breakfast, we did our normal routine:Get dressed, brush teeth, pack lunch, make the bed.
In the mornings, Ace always left first for a staff meeting at the high school. I always left a few minutes after him. It's easier since we've got our own cars. That way I won't get Ace late, and I won't be extra early.

By the time I was off towards the Mandarin orchids, I slowly started to feel sick again. I knew that I was driving faster than normal, but at the moment I don't care. I'm about to spew again for Gods sake!
Quickly parking the car, I ran inside to their house & said hello to everyone

"Hey Itami, you're looking a bit...pale there. Are you sick?"Nami asked
"Yeah a little bit, but I'll get over it."I say
Nami gave me a look."I dunno about that. Lately you have been a bit spewy..."She leaned in a bit closer."Have you done the test?"She asked
"What test?"I asked
"Oh you know...'that' test."She says
"Come on Nami spit it out! I really need to use it."I say
She groans."The pregnancy test! Have you taken it?!"
I tilted my head in confusion."Now why would I take that test?"I asked
"Because you have the symptoms of being pregnant woman!"She says in a animated angry way
"WHAT?!??!"

I covered my mouth as I felt the spew coming up again. Mumbling out a:"Oh god not again" I sped for the bathroom & again emptied my breakfast. I could hear Nami shriek in surprise & hold my hair up. Afterwards, I just felt gross, like I needed 100 showers just to feel better.

"Itami..."Nami sighes."I really think you should take the test. Just in case you know?"
I groan & hug Nami."Yeah.."I sigh."I will."

The rest of the day progressed well, I didn't feel like spewing as much, though my back was really sore. I kept on thinking about the possibility of me being pregnant. I mean, if I was pregnant, then that is just....I just wouldn't be able to believe that I could be carrying Ace's child at this very moment.

'Maybe....maybe I should go to the doctor afterwards. Just to be safe.'

I did exactly that after I was let out of work. Arriving at the hospital, I sat in the waiting room & texted Ace.

Me:Mite b a bit home late 2day in town

My prince (Ace):K same 4 me, staff meeting

"Mrs Portgas D Lucifer Roza?"

"Omigod..."I whispered

I stood up & dragged my eyes up & found myself staring at Dr Trafalgar D Water Law, my old health teacher that flirted with me in high school.

Grinning at me, he motioned me to come this way.
"It's your turn."He says teasingly
With an angry pout, I walked over to his office.

Inside was like a normal doctors check up room:Plain white, squeaky flooring, a patients bed & doctoring tools by the bed. On the other side of the room was a desk, a black leather chair behind the paper flooded desk. Another chair sat, wanting me to sit on it.

"Please take a seat Mrs Portgas D Lucifer Roza."He says
I took a seat & waited for him to sit down.
"So,"He starts."What has my star student done this time?"He asked teasingly

'He is a doctor now..not your teacher.'

"Well, Dr Trafalgar,"I say."Lately, things have been a bit off for me."I say
"Like what?"
"Well, it's just that I've been spewing a lot & just before at work my back had started to ache."I say
Law hums in reply."How long has the vomiting been going on for?"He asked
"It started a couple weeks ago. And the aching back only just started today."I say
Law nods in understanding, scribbling down some notes on a note pad.
"Have you been drinking a lot of water?"He asked
"I make sure to Sir-I mean Dr Trafalgar."I say
He smirks."Hold on..Let me just grab something.."

Trafalgar went through his desk & began to rummage through his desk. He later produced something & held it out to me.

"It's a pregnancy test. You have to pee on it, if it shows up with a 'X' then it means that you're pregnant."He says
I take it from him."Thanks."
I stood up from my seat & started to show myself to the bathroom.
"Oh & Mrs Portgas."He calls
"Yeah?"I groan
"It's good to see you again."He says with a hint of tease
I rolled my eyes & carried on

I went to the bathroom & started to do my business. Later, it was done processing & my eyes were practically falling out of my head

"EHHHHHHHHHHH?!?!?!?!?!?!?? I'M PREGNANT?!?!"
