Chapter 16:

"I don't want to go." I cried onto Josh's chest at three in the morning about a week after the bear incident.

"I know." He cooed rubbing my back gingerly. "It's going to be alright though."

"He's going to kill me!" I almost screeched referring to Ron. Josh, Michelle and I were leaving at six for the airport. We were going back to Connecticut to so Michelle could assume custody of me. I had given her my mother's contact information and she had agreed without a second thought.

"I won't let him." Josh grimaced "I won't let him touch you." He promised quietly kissing my forehead.

"Thank you." I whispered as my tears calmed.

"Come here." Josh stood and took my hand leading me to the door of his old bedroom. We descended the stairs and out the front door.

"Where are we going?" I asked timidly stepping out into the darkness of the night. The stars lit up twinkling thousands of miles away and providing minimal light. Josh without answering led me to the garage where there was a red dirt bike. He didn't bother with helmets, and just got on I followed suit behind him wrapping my arms around him for safety, he put in a key that was hanging on a nearby hook, and he switched the bike on. Without hesitation he shot out of the garage and down the road. I squealed in excitement as the wind ripped through my hair forgetting my curiosity of our destination.

After a few minutes we came to a stop at a small lake that was empty due to the late hour, and he got off the bike I followed him down to the water where he was stopped.

"I used to come here a lot when I was stressed." He explained to me before smiling wickedly and taking his shirt off exposing his tattoos. I gasped quietly having never seen him shirtless before. Josh laughed and ran into the water. "Well come on." He urged me smirking. I threw my head back exasperated momentarily before slowly removing my shirt and shorts to reveal my black bra with a charm that looked like a panda in the center and my black matching underwear. Josh eyed me nonchalantly but I noticed.

"Josh stop!" I whined walking into the cold water timidly covering myself with my arms "It's freezing!" I shouted. Josh approached me and lifted me before carrying me out to where he had been, chest deep in water.

He placed me on my feet and I soon adjusted to the water. "You have so many tattoos" I commented tracing the huge anchor on his side with my finger tips.

"Not that many." He smiled in twinning my fingers with his.

"I want to get a tattoo." I revealed to him.

"Of what?" Josh asked curiously.

"A mustache on the inside of my finger." I giggled leaning against him and watching the moon and stars in the sky.

"You are so special." Josh laughed and I could feel his chest vibrate as he did.

"Show me all your tattoos." I demanded more than asked. Josh took my hand and guided it to the anchor on his side.
