Chapter 10:

"This can't be real." I gasped grabbing the phone and staring down at the bold print on the picture that read "Josh's Mystery Girlfriend" I narrowed my eyes and scrolled down the page there were pictures of us out shopping, holding hands at the airport, us on the motorcycle, me draped over Josh's shoulder freaking out, and the classic bed shot.

"It's ok, they don't know who you are yet." Josh attempted to calm my raging nerves.

"What if they find out I'm fourteen? You could get arrested and this could ruin your career!"

"As long as we haven't slept together I'm safe from the police and you're seventeen remember?" Josh stated optimistically referring to our planned story to tell the paparazzi holding me around the shoulder and patting my back.

"But I'm not really seventeen and what if they find out? What if they find out?" I repeated myself for emphasis gripping into Josh's shirt stretching it out at the collar.

"It's ok, everything's going to be ok." Josh cooed hugging my head to his chest.

"Hey." Connor trailed off inching his way into the room "so that's an appropriate reaction, right?" He softly yet sarcastically commented patting my back as Josh released me. I shot him a glare and returned to the home screen on Josh's phone, I was about to click it off when I noticed the back round was the picture of me freaking out while draped over Josh's shoulder.

"That one was funny." He immediately defended himself as he saw my contorted facial expression I glared at him menacingly playful before shutting off his phone and shoving back in his pocket.

"So who's up for dinner?" Connor suggested changing. the subject as I leaned against the counter twiddling my thumbs.

"That sounds awesome!" Josh replied enthusiastically.

"Maybe I should stay here, if I lay low for a while the paparazzi might forget about me." I suggested looking up at the two boys and realizing for the first time how alike they were making the same facial expression which gave me the answer to my suggestion.

"Don't be ridiculous." Connor was the first to voice his facial expression.

"Yeah." Josh cut in "anyway I've arranged an interview on the Ellen Degeneres show in a few days where I will clear everything up about you." Josh explained, I instantaneously felt a huge weight just disappear off my shoulders.

"Okay." I gave in and followed the boys to Connor's red jeep. I was about to climb in the back when Connor, who was in the drivers seat, yanked my into the passenger seat next to him and winked at me, I giggled. "Connor you should probably let Josh sit up front." I told him going to get out but he hurriedly reached across me and shut the door looking at me, his face inches from mine he smiled.

"I want you to sit here though." He told me making me blush.

"Connor." I heard Josh say sternly from the backseat before Connors face was suddenly farther away as Josh yanked him by the back of the shirt. "Focus on the road." Josh grumbled.

Connor frowned and started the car, we spent the entire drive in silence Josh and I pulling faces at each other in the rear view mirror next to my window. In a few minutes we pulled up outside a small Italian restaurant, Connor got out and ran around to my side to open the door.

"Awe you're such a gentleman." I put my hand over my heart and smiled sweetly, just like I had done when Josh had opened my door the day before. "You both are." I added ruffling their hair.
