Chapter 15:

"Welcome to Kentucky!" Michelle beamed as I stepped out of the car in Union, Kentucky at six a.m.

"It's lovely." I complemented surveying the house. It was rather large and completely made of bricks and various stones. There were many windows to be seen in the front, it truthfully did look lovely. The street only had a few houses and mostly consisted of land.

"Thank you." Michelle, who was somehow full of energy, answered hurrying towards the door.

"Move your butt Josh!" Was the next I heard as the boys tumbled from the car. Josh in front of Connor. Josh had come along to stay with me as long as possible before his career required him to return home to California. Josh laughed as I turned and eyed the boys humorously, he then proceeded to exit the car as slow as possible with the intention of angering Connor. After a while they had both successfully exited the car. Connor frustratedly slammed the door.

"Why didn't you just go out the other door?" I asked Connor as he straightened his shirt out. He smirked at me evilly.

"I didn't think if it." He rushed towards me lifting me in the air.

"Connor put me down." I demanded glancing hopefully towards Josh for rescue but was met by his back as he retrieved my bags from the car.

"Make me." Connor challenged spinning around with me tight in his hold and after leaning in towards me slowly. "Do you want to finish what we started this morning?" He smirked.

"Not all that much no." I squeaked bracing myself for what seemed like the inevitable, which was Connor kissing me. I let out a large breath of air as a firm hand came down tightly on Connor's shoulder.

"What Josh?" Connor growled, I put out my hands on his chest firmly for him to stop.

"Put her down Connor." Josh attempted to remain humorous adding a small chuckle. Connor sighed and slowly placed me on my feet again.

"I'll get your bags." He stalked back to the car unhappily.

"Thank you." I called after him as he hoisted my two bags out of the trunk. Connor then led me into the house and up some stairs to a hallway with many doors on either side he soon showed me to an empty bedroom.

"This would usually be out guest room, but it's your room now." Connor smiled gently placing my bags on the bed that lay in the center. I nodded curtly as he left leaving Josh and I alone. I bit my lip not knowing what to say.

"I'm going to miss you." I began timidly.

"I'm going to miss you too, but I'm not leaving today." He reminded me smiling. I nodded laughing slightly and glancing out the window, where I could see a vast forest. Josh joined me beside the window.

"Have you ever gone in there?" I asked pointing a finger out the window towards the forest.

"Yes." Josh answered I could feel his eyes on me and slowly met them tearing my gaze away from the forest. "Come here." He took my hand in his and led me out of the room. He then led me outside and into the forest. I flinched as I clumsily walked into a thorn branch. Drops of blood trickled down my leg but I ignored it. Josh turned and saw, chucking he grabbed underneath my thighs and lifted me onto his back, piggyback style. Hurriedly I wrapped my arms around his neck so I wouldn't fall. He then proceeded to walk deeper into the woods.

"Aren't you afraid of getting lost?" I asked looking back as the last light of civilization disappeared into the trees.

"Not too much, because you know I have a phone." He reminded me.
