A/N:
This is a suggestive chapter focusing on Josh's dark side after Charlotte broke his heart. The chapter itself is just suggestive let's say, just a little warning. ;))

Chapter 28:

"Charlotte are you okay?"

"Ya, why?" I starred up at Josh questioningly from the ground.

"You just sort of fell over."

"Oh, jeez I did." I half laughed as I stood up clumsily.

"Do you want to go out to the car?"

"That would be great." I murmured, Josh's entire attitude towards me had shifted a great deal since the last time I had seen him and it worried me that he didn't really want to see me all that much. We walked towards his car in dead silence.

"Remember the first time you took me home from the airport?" I broke the silence.

"I'll never forget it." He stated absolutely plainly in an almost bored way.

"I loved being on your bike, and going up to the hill, we decided that the hill was big enough for the both of us but we never really went back." I attempted to spark some sort of emotion in him.

"Yes Charlotte I remember that day quite clearly." He almost spat at me.

"I'm sorry I can't help but feel that you're not really happy to see me." I narrowed my eyes at his turned back.

"To be completely honest, I'm not completely sure how I feel about it." We reached the car and he popped the trunk and took my bag from me and threw it in. I had never seen him like this before and it was breaking my heart. He slammed the trunk and turned to me and grabbed my wrist forcefully moving me he pinned me against the car. "We need to talk."

"I know." I nodded frightened at this point. "But we should probably do it later."

"Okay. Get in." He released me and I hesitantly got into the passenger seat. He had adopted this alpha male complex since the last time I had seen him and it was confusing me. "My mom called me a few days ago and we were taking and the subject of your birthday came up."

"You missed it by a month." It was true the month before, which was about a month and a half since I moved out from Josh's, was my birthday and I hadn't told anyone so Michelle found out by chance because she was talking to Josh and asked him if he knew when my birthday was and discovered the date had passed. She still made a cake and celebrated against my will.

"Because you didn't tell anyone and I was the only one that knew"

"And yet you didn't call me."

"Sorry I forgot."

"I don't care I hate birthdays anyways."

"Why?"

"It's just another day, no body really cares and I find it irritating when people pretend they do."

"You're optimistic." He sarcastically chuckled at me which was the first time I had seen him show any real emotion, and I was happy even though he was teasing me and it was probably in spite.

"Thanks."

"So you're 15, huh?"

"Apparently."

"That's nice."

"Why?"

"I like 15 a lot better than 14."

"Glad to hear it." The rest of the car ride was spent in uncomfortable silence as we approached his house old memories flooded into my mind and I couldn't help but smile. I slowly got out of the car hiding my smile with my hair. "I'm going to bring your bag in." Josh told me chucking me the keys to unlock the front door.
