people took pictures and watched in awe as Tali and Christopher whirled around.

i didn't mind he took an interest in her. i just didnt want him to hurt her. Especially when he looked so much like....him.

Ariel made her way to me through the crowd.

"What was that about?!" she hissed.

i took a bite out of my third cupcake and rolled my eyes.

"I am your princess and you will answer me!" she threw my cupcake to the ground and bared her fangs.

Honestly it was a little scary, if wasnt for the fact that i had a whole foot on her.

"Look i appreciate the good treatment and all but i have no interest in your brother." i shrugged.

"No interest ?! Do you think this is your choice?!" she turned away from me and picked up a Champaign glass.

"since I'm free-" she cut me off.

"You are not free." she looked around for ease droppers.

"follow me to the balcony." she walked swiftly to the other side of the ballroom. i tried my best to keep up.

There were these large glass doors that lead to the best view in the world. Gigantic curtains covered the Windows in th same color as the ballroom.

i followed her outside into the night air. she closed the doors behind me.

"Ever since i brought you and your cousin Tali you have been my property. Understand ? You do as your instructed. The only reason your not still in that hell hole is because i want my brother- happy. "

her facial expression wasn't that of joy though.

i looked out at the stars. i could almost here Alecsander when i did. Looking out at our vast country i realized he was out there somewhere.

if only i knew where.

"Jothi? Do you understand now?" she came closer.

Memories of Alec telling me i should leave came to mind.

"i do." i said more to the boy in my memories than her.

Before i knew what i was doing i jumped.

Ariel screamed but widened her eyes in amazement as my wings brought me back up.

"You-y-you have wings! " she gasped.

And freedom. i thought to myself. i turned away from the castle and ariel and the castle like prison.

But then the most sickening pain rattled through my body. My wings retracted and my body hurdled to the ground.

The air rushing past me took the breath out of me to scream.

i heard a crack and another jolt of pain then it stopped. People- vamps were screaming and running.

I saw a blur of faces. Ariel. Tali. The king.

Then it was a blur into darkness.
