"I was hoping you'd start to feel better today." he said after a long silence.

I watched the window as we drove down the mountain side. The moon and the stars were out meaning so were vampires. Back home my shift would have been started.

"Yea. Those meds fixed me right up. " i said only half heartedly.

I didn't want to be here. I wanted to be with Alec. My teeth clenched as i thought about him sleeping in my bed that night. Or when he convinced me to leave. Then brought me back just because-

"How old are you?" Christopher asked pulling me out of deep thoughts.

"17." i replied.

"Really ? i thought you and Tali were the same age. I didn't know she was two years your senior." he smiled and i saw that adorable dimple.

"yep.To bad i was more of an older sister to her." i sucked at small talk.

How was i going to make it through this evening ?

Good thing Chris took the silence to tell me about the people on the council. What they were discussing, how he thought they'd respond.

I listened or atleast pretended to.

The limo stopped infront of a court room. Its large old exterior meant we were in the vampire part of town.

Around me vamps of all ages and sizes busily walked getting to work or their screaming child to daycare. Teens with books in their hands made their way to the college campus a few miles away, young vamps who appeared very young in age talked on cell phones.

Everyone either had an very old accent, some had a more modern one, or talked in languages i didn't understand.

"Over whelming isn't it?" he grabbed my hand and showed me inside.

i didn't pull away.

Everyone in the room stood as he entered. Two men and one women sat at a long table with a chair at the head. That is where Christopher sat and pulled up a chair for me beside him.

"We see you've brought a guest." observed an older man with a white beard.

"Guests? We are discussing the matter of our country and you make it a date?" Growled a younger looking man of around 30, but then again he could be way older.

"Judiah i believe you do not know who your speaking to." Christopher growled at the younger looking man.

Judiah turned his gaze.

"The king meant no harm." said a woman with short pixie cut hair. "He simply meant to treat us with a snack." She smiled at me.

chris smacked his hand on the table.

"Enough! Jothi is my guest and we shall treat her as such!" he roared.

Everyone grew silent until the older man spoke up.

"Lets discuss the matters of the children of the moon." he suggested.

"What about them? We gave them some land let them be content." snapped the man i now know as judiah.

He recieved warning growels from the whole table.

"They want equal rights." the older man continued.

"In every society there will be a lower class. We cannot change how the public perceives them." said the woman.

"They are Prisoners to their own land." Christopher added.

"That is their punishment for- what they did." the woman caught herself from saying something.

But what?

Chris dropped his gaze and clenched his jaw. i found my hand holding his. He looked at me and squeezed back.

"Their parents and grandparents did that. Not them. It was 60 Years ago." He finally said.

Werewolves were a touchy subject. Even i knew that. While humans were slaves, werewolves were...nothing. Their numbers were low, and they all lived in one province. where they couldn't leave.

"I rule they stay in that province. Its better for the rest of the country."judiah said immediately.

"Those mongrels will only start trouble. 60 Years ago we gave them some freedom and they went wild! They stay in the province." she agreed.

"I have seen a lot over my 200 years Christopher....they can't be trusted not yet." the older man sided with them making it 3 to 1.

From what i knew he lost his arguement.

The female shuffled through some papers and skimmed.

She made a sound of loathing.

"Making these sex camps illegal ?" she rolled her eyes.

That caught my attention.

Judiah laughed and i wanted nothing more than to jump across the table and strangle him.

"mortal women need a place in the world! They've been this long before we took over." he exclaimed.

"They are being born there and raised to think that life is just sex and blood!" the older man hissed.

Finally !! A vampire that understood !

"Human girls are such whorish things. When i was there a little girl wanted to make me....feel good." she snorted.

"That doesn't mean you said no." judiah laughed.

"She was 11!" the woman hissed appalled.

"Last i checked you visit those camps weekly." judiah teased.

"As opposed to daily like you?" she shot back.

Christopher cleared his throat.

"This is a serious matter. Kids are born on these things. 'working' at young ages like 5! Its disgusting and degrading!" he growled.

"You've never been to one so how would you know dear king?" judiah challenged.

"I've read about them, researched it. A few of my siblings were born there! And even with their royal blood live there today." He said growing upset.

I squeezed his hand encouraging him to win this one.

"Now your mother and father knew how to have fun. If I'm not wrong your parents mothered and fathered children in the camps. They left them there. Did they not?" he drummed his fingers on the table a smirk on his face.

"What they did is not relevant now." Chris growled low.

"They were only blessing those mear mortals with a gift. Those little half children are beautiful, though still mortal." the woman agreed.

I bit my tongue. How dare they? Impregnating us or getting pregnant themselves then leaving the child with us. Thinking their helping us? They were destroying us!

"I want them illegal and out of this country." chris said finally. i smiled at him and he melted.

"I vote they stay." the female nodded.

"You know my vote." judiah chuckled.

"I vote-" before the older man could speak i found myself interrupting him.

"Wait! Before you vote."

Everyone turned to me. judiah and the lady with appalled faces, Chris and the man with looks of interest.

"women on these camps don't ask for this. They are born into it. Those...camps hold little girls against there will to do things for money. You can't keep them. Our country shouldn't revolve around sex." i pleaded.

"It was refreshing to hear a new outlook on things." the older man smiled. "We shall decide next week with the princess involved." he nodded.

"Meeting ajourned." Chris said finally.
