Amy’s P.O.V.
I was on my fourth box and I still haven’t found my sketching items. In the fourth and fifth boxes, I found my photo frames; they each held one of my favorite sketches that I did. I pulled out all of the frames and placed them on my bed, I would have to get dad or Max to hang them up. They don’t trust me around hammers or nails, because they think I’ll hurt myself.
I heard a knock on the door so I made my way to the door and opened it to see Max.
“Do you need me to hang anything up?” He asks me.
I see that he has a hammer and a box of nails.
I nod my head. “Yeah I do.” I tell him.
I let him in and show him where the frames are at.
“Alright, is this it or do you have more?” He asks me.
I nod my head. “That’s all I have.” I tell him.
“Show me where you want them to go.” He says.
I grab five frames and showed Max where I wanted them to go and then after the five were hung up, I grabbed another five and showed him where to hang them up too. I grabbed the last five and showed Max where to hang them as well.
After the last photo was hung up, we heard dad yell something. Max and I went downstairs to see what was going on.
“What were you yelling dad?” Max asks.
“I was yelling out, ‘Where’s the hammer at?’” Dad says looking up at us.
Max shows dad the hammer. “Here it is. I was using it to hang Amy’s things.” He tells dad.
Dad nods his head. “Good, I don’t want you touching the hammer.” Dad tells me.
I roll my eyes. I see dad shake his head, he must’ve seen me rolling my eyes.
“We need to go to the grocery store to buy things.” Dad says.
“Can I stay?” I ask looking at dad.
“I don’t know if you should Amy.” Dad says.
“Dad come on, I’m not a baby.” I tell him.
I swear dad and my brothers treat me like a baby.
Dad sighs. “Alright, just keep your phone near you.” He tells me.
“I promise that my phone will be in my pocket at all times.” I say.
Dad smiles. “Alright boys, go get ready.” Dad says to Max and Alex.
They head upstairs to their rooms.
“Are you sure you want to stay here?” Dad asks me.
I nod. “Yeah dad I’m sure.” I tell him.
Max and Alex come back down and then they, along with dad leave the house.
I head up to my room and grab my phone and place it in my pocket. I went over to the boxes and opened the rest of them. The last box I opened had my sketch books and my drawing kits. I pull them out and lay them on the floor. I emptied out the rest of the boxes and then I put them away.
I heard the front door being opened so I walked out of my room and went downstairs to see dad, Max and Alex coming inside with bags.
“Hey Amy, want to help me put the groceries away?” Dad asks me.
“Sure.” I tell him.
I walk the last three steps on the stairs and then I follow dad to the kitchen. I went into the kitchen and dad began putting the groceries that he was carrying, on the counter.
“I’m going to hand you stuff to put in the fridge.” Dad tells me.
He began handing me the cold things so I started putting them in the fridge.
“Here’s the last of the groceries.” I hear Max say.
I turn slightly around to see Max and Alex carrying in cases of pop.
Dad hands me the rest of the cold stuff and then Max opens up a case of pop and begins to put them in the fridge.
“Alright Amy, you can go up to your room, if you want.” Dad tells me.
