"I can't believe you guys actually knew of Clint's plan." Natasha chuckled.
"We had a hard time trying to keep you occupied, sister." Maria placed an elbow on Natasha's shoulder and smirked.
"So how was it? Was it romantic?" Jane probed curiously.
"He cooked me dinner, decorated the balcony with lanterns and fairy lights, then we slow danced...It was perfect." Natasha thought, reminiscing the night before, a smile forming on her lips as she remembered Clint's soothing voice and touch.
"Aww, Clint's so sweet. I'm really envious, I wish Tony would do something like that for me." Pepper said.
"I could ask Clint to drop him a hint."
"It wouldn't be the same. Anyway, you're one lucky girl, Natasha." Pepper smiled.
Natasha blushed and nodded.
"So did you two have s-" Jane hit Darcy on the arm before she could say it.
"That's not for you to know." Jane whispered and Darcy made a face. Darcy could be a little direct sometimes.
Natasha's cheeks turned even redder. She knew what Darcy was about to ask and tried to avoid it as best as she could (She and Clint agreed to wait till after marriage), pretending to tuck a lock of hair behind her ear and study a crack on the floor, when she felt a hand fall on her shoulder and the familiar after-shave scent.
"What're you girls talking about?" Clint asked, pulling Natasha closer to him.
"We heard about your romantic date, and we're so envious of Natasha." Pepper chirped, and Clint chuckled, locking eyes with Natasha and she grinned.
"Told you it'd be worth it." Clint said to Maria and she smiled and nodded.
The other boys then approached and they all headed to the lunch table.
---------------------------------------------
That afternoon after school, Clint and Natasha headed to an ice-cream parlour.
It was a cheery little place with vibrant colours - hot pink and vivid sky blue, citrus orange and lime green. It was extremely pleasing to the eye. A giant ice-cream cone rested on top of the shop behind the colourful signboard, and white tables and chairs with orange umbrellas decorated the outside.
Clint and Natasha stepped in and approached the counter to order their ice-cream cones, his arm round her waist.
"I'll have one caramel flavored cone, and one mint one for her."
"Extra chocolate sauce for him!" Natasha added and placed a hand on Clint's shoulder, smiling sweetly at the girl at the counter, while Clint kissed her cheek.
After getting their cones, they took a seat by the window.
"I can't help but notice the new hoodie you're wearing, Sweetheart." Clint narrowed his eyes at Natasha playfully while licking his ice-cream.
Natasha looked down at the grey hoodie she had so absentmindedly slipped on that morning before blushing and pretending to avoid his question, focusing on her ice-cream.
"So when did you steal it from me without my knowledge?" Clint probed with a smirk.
"When you were sleeping." Natasha said innocently and shrugged.
"I better keep my clothes locked up in a safe from now on." Clint teased.
"Fine, since you're so afraid of me stealing your clothes, I shall not go to your dorm anymore." Natasha pretended to be angry and looked out the window.
"C'mon Sweetheart, you know I'm joking. I'd rather you be wearing my clothes than anyone else's." He gently tugged on her hand, and she turned to face him with a smirk on her face.
"You're naughty." Then Clint leaned across the tiny table and captured her lips in a kiss.
The touch of their lips ignited a burst of flavour, it tasted sweet - a delectable mixture of caramel and mint, with extra chocolate sauce.
They smiled against each other's lips before parting, and returned to finishing their cones.
After their tastebuds were bestowed the gifts of sweetness, and their throats soothed by the cold, creamy delight, they left the air-conditioned haven of the ice-cream parlour out into the warmth of the sun.
Clint and Natasha decided to head back to his dorm to do homework, and so they ambled lazily, hand in hand in the direction of the school.
That was when Natasha tripped on a tile that was jutting out of the pavement, and Clint didn't manage to catch her before she fell. A little scream escaped her lips as she fell on her knees.
Natasha sat back on the pavement and stared at her bloody left knee, her other knee was only slightly grazed. She pulled a frown.
"Oh dear." Clint remarked as he pulled a packet of tissue out of his pocket.
Clint squatted down next to her and dabbed her wound with a tissue. Natasha winced a little at the stinging pain.
"C'mon, Nat, let's get you back to my dorm and I'll bandage the wound for you." Clint said as he helped her up from the ground.
Natasha hobbled a few steps before Clint stopped her and bent down in front of her.
Natasha widened her eyes.
"I'll carry you back, here, get on." He said and patted his back.
And she wrapped her arms round his neck as he supported her legs and stood up.
"Thanks Clint." Natasha said and kissed his ear, before resting her chin on her arm that was round his shoulder.
Clint hummed in happiness as they continued on their way back to school, Natasha's locks of red hair whipping around his face in the wind.
A warm, fuzzy feeling took Natasha's heart on a ride. Her Clint - he was as sweet as ice-cream.
