The world blurred as Beth screamed and the horse whinnied loudly. SuddenlyI waslying on the ground, pain flaring through my arm. "Ah!" I helped,my eyes spotting black.

Suddenly rough arms grabbed me up in my half passed out state and I heard a string of loud curses. My arm hurt so bad, I nearly blacked out from the pain. All I saw where blurs and flashes.

I heard a motorcycle engine rev and I was still draped over someone's shoulder. The whole world faded away as the motorcycle's loud engine droned out everything else in the world.

I woke with a scream, sweat drenching my (s/c) skin. A rough, calloused hand gently held my own and another hand stroked my (h/c) hair.
"It's okay (y/n)." A gruff voice soothed. "It's okay, just go back to sleep."

Against my own will I felt myself falling back under into the sea of darkness. Again, everything faded away.

My eyes fluttered open as sun soaked into my skin. I was warm and the air smelled like delicious wood and meat. I stretched my arms out, but winced and pulled back as pain shot through my left arm.

"Ugh." I opened my eyes. I was covered in a blanket and tucked gently stop a bed of pine needles. A fire crackled sweetly at my feet and a squirrel was roasting, giving out a delicious aroma.

Daryl was leaning against a tree, arms crossed, eyes half closed, with a closed, serious expression set upon his face. His famous scowl.

"Daryl...? Where's Beth?" Suddenly everything from the day before rushed back. "Ah! What happened?! Where's Beth?!"

Daryl stood up. "You fell off the 'orse. She bucked and you broke yer arm." I glanced at my red arm. "I had to set it. You've been asleep for half a day now."

I winced. "Daryl, I'm so sorry..."

He rose a brow, his eyes glittering with confusion. "For what?"

"For separating you and Beth. You could've just left me and gotten away."

The surprise and even hurt on his face was so cleared my heart ached. "What do you mean 'could've left you'?! We all stick together! I don't care if I hate their guts or not, if anyone's a part of the group, I help save their stupid ass if it needs saving!"

I stared at him then looked away, tears coming to my eyes. "Never mind." I snapped bitterly, mad at myself for making the redneck upset.

He sighed, ran a hand through his hair, and turned around. "I'm going to go smoke." He muttered before retreating into the woods.

I curled up and rested my hands on my knees. Great... (Y/n) the screw up strikes again.
