All was quiet. It was the middle of the night and freezing cold. I slowly got to my feet and looked around. There was no more blankets or anything.

Rick was curled up with Judith and Carl, Dale and Andrea were snuggled, and everybody else were sleeping in heaps of themselves.

There wasn't a fire (I mean, cmon, we're in a forest) and a chilly wind blew all around.
I settled back down and sighed, hugging my knees. I missed the gas station. It had had food and water and shelter.

We probably could've found a way to clear out the walkers and not completely obliterate the gas station, if we had more time.

Maybe we could've pushed racks against the windows and took the walkers out one, two, three at a time. Maybe we could've settled down until we needed to move on.

I sighed softly, watching my breath billow in the dark air. Every other leaf had a smooth coating of frost, and I was seeing less and less little creatures. Winter was setting in. And all too fast.

I hunched my shoulders and shivered violently as another chilly gale passed. I stood up, mustered up my courage, and walked lightly over to Daryl. Every step was soft and well placed as I tried not wake him or accidentaly startle Michone, who was on guard.

I crawled onto the blanket he slept on and crawled over to him. Heat seemed to billow off him in waves, and I was instantly comforted. I lay down an inch away from him and soaked up his warmth.

"Daryl?" I whispered softly.

"Whut?" He groaned, his voice husky from sleep. He half opened an eye and shifted.

"I'm cold." I whispered softly.

"And why are you talking to me?" He grunted, shifting on his side to look at me.

"You're... You're warm..." I murmured shyly.

He sighed and suddenly I was enveloped in warmth. He had grabbed and hugged me close. I sighed, instantly warmed, and curled up against him, resting my head on his chest. His muscular arms wrapped around me and held me protectively.

I sighed, flooded with warmth and happiness, and felt myself falling asleep, lulled by the beat of his heart.

He rest his scrubby chin on my head and I fell asleep.

Fflllluuuuffff!!!!
Well, this is an early update for next week I guess. I didn't mean to publish it.
