We rode along in silence. Finally we created the green hill and there sat the gas station. It was empty and all the concrete under the gas tanks were splattered with blood. No walkers though.
We hopped off the bike, grabbed our weapons, and slowly crept up to the gas station. It was quiet. I slid up to the window and peeked inside. It was ransacked and sifted through, but appeared to be empty.
We made our way to the door and peeked inside. No one. Daryl gave me a puzzled look and I shrugged in response. We didn't talk about what happened.
I slowly pushed open the door, it was quiet, and walked inside, Daryl trailing after. The place was empty."I'll check the bathrooms. You check Wendy's." I whispered. He nodded and we parted. I gripped my knife tightly and headed toward the bathroom. I glanced at a display shelf of chips. "Jeez, three dollars for a bag of chips?" I joked quietly to myself. "A little expensive."
Daryl gave me a weird look and I blushed, embarrassed. I walked to the bathroom, gripped the handle, and stopped. I took a deep, shaky breath and pushed the door open.
Empty. No signs of anyone being there.
I checked the men's bathroom and it was the same result.
"Daryl?" I called, feeling my throat close up. My palms free clammy as I began to get a bit panicky. "Did you find anything?"
He stormed out of the other section of the building. "You see anything?" He growled.
"No." I shook my head, dread settling in. He cursed and knocked over a shelf of stuff. "Daryl!!" I cried.
He looked up at me, his eyes glassy. "What?!" He snarled.
I stopped then slowly began. "... Daryl you have to stay calm." He glared at me. "We will find them."
My own words echoed in my head, my doubt shining on his own face. "We have each other, Daryl. We can find them. Just trust me."Great thing to be asking. I scoffed to myself.
"Fine." He growled. "I trust you."
I'm so sorry so much writers block
