"AN--" My call was cut of short by a window shattering. A walker poker its head through, gnashing its teeth.
I raised my gun and shot it. I went to scream again, but Andrea stumbled in, splattered with blood.
"HELP ME WITH THE DOOR!!" Andrea threw herself against it and it latched shut. I panted for breath and turned on her. "Where were you, man?!" I snapped.
"Trying not to get eaten, (y/n)!! Walker had me pinned in the bathroom."
"Oh." I didn't feel sorry for yelling. Another head poked through the jagged window and scraped some skin off on the glass. POW!
Carol ran out of the back of the RV. "Sorry! I was trying to find a safe spot for Judith and Carl. I figured I'd stay with them and Andrea and T-Dog would be en...ough..." She trailed off as she saw T-Dog. "What happened?" She knelt by the black man.
"There was a Walker. He jumped out of the way and wrenched his leg." I reported.
Carol began to gently check his leg. Andrea looked out the window. "Damn!! Its a mini herd out there!" She pushed the bed up and moved the mattress in front of the window, toppling books everywhere.
I sighed and sat heavily on the ground. And it's probably my fault! (Y/n) the screw-up strikes again!
Everything grew quiet except for the loud moans of the walkers. I slowly made my way into the back room, where Carl and Judith were huddled under the bed. "Hi guys. It's okay. You can come out now." I murmured gently.
Carl slowly crawled out on his stomach and I reached under and pulled Judith out. I rocked her in my arms and sat on the edge of the bed. "(Y/n)?"
"Yeah Carl?" He plopped on the edge of the bed.
"Is dad and Hershel gonna be alright? And Daryl and Beth and Glenn?"
"Calm down little man." I ruffled his hair. "They're super awesome out there. Everyone'll be fine with Rick, Daryl, and Michone with 'em."
Carl smiled a little. "Yeah, huh?"
"Absolutely!"
We delved back into silence. I stroked Judith's soft cheek and let her grab my finger. Carl took of his hat, looked it over, and put out back on again.
"How about I... uh... How about I sing something? I'd tell a story but I'm not to good at coming up off the top of my head."
Carl nodded and Judith cooed.
"Oh, Ms. Believer,
My pretty sleeper,
Your twisted mind, is like snow on the road,
Your shaking shoulders, prove that's it's in colder-
Inside your head, than a winter of dead,"Judith cooed softly and began to fall asleep. Carl curled up on his side and closed his eyes.
"I, will tell you,
I love you,
But the muffs on your ears, will cater your fears,
My nose and feet, are running as we start,
To travel through snow,
Together we go."I softly finished the rest of the song, and smiled as the two drifted off to sleep. I set Judith next to her brother and made my way to the front of the RV, humming softly.
T-Dog was on the bed now, still passed out. Andrea was sitting, fuming, in the driver's seat, and Carol was sitting nearby, looking worried.
"Hey." I smiled a little and sat across from her.
"Hi." She traced the the wood of the table.
"Don't worry, they'll be back soon. I mean, it's Daryl, Rick, and Samurai we're talking about here."
Carol smiled a little and met my (e/c) eyes. "You're right."
Just then, as if to farther prove my point, we heard the engine of a motorcycle rev. Andrea jumped up and gave a 'whoop' of joy.
"See. Exactly my point." Just then a scream ripped the air along with the sound of shattering glass.
Carol and I shot up. Judith began to cry and Carl screamed again. We rushed to the back room, and all we saw was blood.
