Dear reader, all of Merle's dialogue will be replaced with friendly, kind words compared to the colorful words he decided to use.

Thank you.

Rap, rap, rap.

"Open this freaking door!" Yeah, sure, he said freaking. Just- uh- yeah. Freaking.

I jerked awake from my sleep at the barking. I groaned and opened my eyes. Daryl was still sleeping. I glanced at the door, which we had barricaded. Okay, we just tied a couple shirts and hangers together and somehow kept the door closed from the inside, that way we didn't have any unwanted intruders.

Daryl had fallen asleep, a new strength going through him as he was ensured by me. We were gonna be okay.

I threw aside the makeshift lock-thingie and opened the door. Merle stood there, scowling. He grabbed my arm and yanked me out of the closet roughly. "Hey!" I squawked as I fell to my knees. My palms and knees hit hard on the wooden floor, sending pain flailing up my arms. I fought back sudden tears of pain.

Merle closed the door and locked it. "We ain't takin' my bebbe brotha'." He growled.

I got to my feet. "You have no right to call him that, traitor!" I glared at him.

I reeled back, my face flaring with heat. I stumbled, holding my cheek and fighting tears. Merle glared at me, his hand still raised. "You ain't got no right to call me that, you--." Female dog. Pregnant female dog.

Merle grabbed my arm in a vice-like grip and proceeded to drag me out of the room. He led me down to an old, unfinished room with nothing but a chair. "Oh, great, this room again." I grumbled.

Merle threw me down but this time I caught myself. I bent over, catching myself and straightened. I wheeled around as he closed the door. "Da' told me to beat that (brick wall) attitude out of ya."

I tensed, then relaxed, swallowing hard. "You can try, One Hand, but this tongue is mine," I waggled it at him, "and it don't learn lessons." I wasn't used to being a snot, or rebellious, and it felt good, especially towards Merle.

I cried out as his fist connected with my jaw. I fell to the ground, coughing. Merle grabbed my shirt and lifted me up, punching me again, this time sending fire through my lip. Blood trickled down my chin and I groaned, black flashing in my vision.

"You'll learn ye'r lesson." He sneered. He punched me again, and pain blasted inside my skull. Tears of pain started to roll down my cheeks, despite my best effort to keep them back.

"You really are a snake." I coughed, blood splattering as I spoke. "You're worse than your dad, ya know." This earned another punch, this one causing my nose to gush. I was slammed against the wall, driving the air from my lugs.

"Ya have no right to say anything like that!" He yelled in my face. "Ya know NOTHIN'!"

He threw me to the floor and I skittered for a few feet. I coughed, choking back tears. "Yeah, maybe not, but I know what I see." I slowly got to my knees and he grabbed my arm.

"I'm done with ya." He spat.

"Good." I replied, just as venomously.

He drug me back to the closet, where Daryl was already awake, holding Judith and rocking her. Merle threw me in roughly and I fell hard, tears spilling down my cheeks from pain. "Maybe you learned your lesson." He slammed the door shut and the lock clicked.

I hid my face from Daryl and retreated into the other corner of the closet, beginning to cry. It hurt so bad. I just wanted to cry myself to sleep. I was so done with this day already. My stomach hurt, my face hurt, my eyes hurt.

"(Y/n)?" Daryl's gruff voice was laced with concern, soft and gentle. "What happened?"

"Nothing." I muttered, sounding nasally as blood dripped out of my nose.

"We both know that's not true." A gentle hand squeezed my shoulder. "C'mon, I'm here for a reason. Talk to me."

I slowly pulled my hands away from my face, and my heart wrenched at the shock on his face. I hated my life.

Hey, guys, I'm so sorry if the ending seemed rushed or weird, I KNEW where I wanted to go, then watched the episode of the Walking Dead, then totally forgot. Major feels in the next couple chapters, but I apologize if this one sucked. I LOVE YOU ALL!
