18. Jet Pack Blues

Pete's P.O.V:

I slowly walked out of Atticus' house in shock.

What do I do?

Tell my best friend he is in trouble? Or have my children killed?

That question was in my mind as I slowly walked back home. Forgetting that everyone back at home was waiting for me to take them to the store.

"Hurry up lazy bum!" Aspen yelled.

I looked up as I smiled a bit and walked towards my car as Patrick sat in the passenger's seat.

He looked at me with concern, "is everything alright?"

I nodded a little bit to fast, "yea. Why wouldn't I be?"

Patrick looked forward as I started the car and drove off to the mall.

Abigail's P.O.V:

We finally arrived at the mall as Aspen and I literally ran inside, leaving the others in the dust.

We ran inside Macy's as we went towards all the prom dresses that were there.

There had seem to be a big load of dresses, even if prom if this weekend.

I never really knew what kind of dress I wanted. Maybe a short dress, but I never dreamt about it like other girls who never had a life.

Aspen walked over to some long gowns, typical.

I was walking around when I caught someone from the distance.

"No. No. No. No." I mumbled.

"What?" Aspen called.

I pointed at the person I was looking at.

Amber.

She was looking for a dress too.

Ian was behind her. Along with someone else.....

"EDGAR!" I shouted.

Aspen's P.O.V:

I was PERFECTLY FINE until the She-Devil came to MY STORE!

I rolled my eyes as my father, Andy, walked to me.

"What's that all about?" He asked.

I shook my head, "just a sworn enemy of mine."

"Wait- Was that the girl from the orphanage?"

I sighed, "Dad, you are so slow, I swear."

Abigail ran up to Edgar as they embraced each other.

I slightly laughed as Patrick was literally as red as a fire engine.

I wish my father was that protective over me.

As if it was destiny, Ebony walked into the store too along with that new girl Zachariah liked. Zoey.

"Oh, hey!" Ebony exclaimed.

Maximus smiled as he walked up to her and they left to the food court. They left poor Zoey with us by herself.

"Are you going to prom, Zoey?" I asked her.

She shook her head, "no one asked me. Not even my crush."

"Would you mind telling me who he is?" I asked.

"Aspen." Dad warned.

"It's Zachariah." She admitted.

"What about me?" Zachariah asked.

Zoey turned around to face him, blushing in the process.

"Who brought him here?" I asked.
