There was no doubt about it that Drake was taking over the summer, earlier in the year Beats Music announced that they would be turning into Apple Music and would be offering a 3 month free trial for the $10 app though it was not fully clear what Drake would be doing but it was rumored that he would be a guest DJ of some sort, knowing his power and influence they wanted Drake for some kind spokesperson. Offering him the 19 million dollar deal for his that said influential power. Drake had no choice but to back out of the Tidal deal that he had going on with Jay-Z at the last minute. His gut feeling to do so was extremely right too, even though Jay-Z was hands down one of the best and respected music moguls in the business today however Tidal wasn't doing as well as he intended it to, and Drake saved himself at the last minute knowing Tidal would need a few years before it truly started to make a dent in musical platforms. Not only that but separating himself from a idol of his to technically do the same thing as him was a much better move and would later be understood and embraced by Jay himself.
After another plane ride, Drake and his crew found themselves in San Francisco for the launching of Apple Music. Drake stood backstage looking down at his phone giving the speech he had memorized one last glance. This was one of the greatest yet most nerve-racking moments he'd dealt with. Tae and Oliver had been standing next to producer and business mogul Dr. Dre, the founder and creator of Beats Headphones in which he eventually sold the company to Apple with his help Apple had Dr. Dre create a music streaming app catered for the true music lover. After talks and countless meetings, Dr. Dre and Apple turned Beats Music into a multi-billion dollar business, the same formula just a different look. Tae looked over at Drake, he was extremely silent mentally getting himself into ready to address a room full of parters and media, Drake felt and met her gaze and smiled as she winked at him.
Over a course of three months, Tae became one of the hardest women to read, she was beyond different then he had ever met and he'd met plenty. Even though they had a business relationship and they both understood the business, both extremely professional but Tae would never let the fact that Drake seemed to have her legs on his shoulders every other night get in the way of their business relationship. It was something he wasn't necessarily used to. She'd never show him signs of jealousy when he'd receive text messages, nudes, or short videos of past females showing him what he was missing. Not to say she didn't have feelings for him, she did, it was safe to say she loved the man, everything about him. She had deep feelings for him, hell she spent at least 20 hours out of the 24 hours in a day with him. But she had her own little secrets that Drake didn't know about. He hadn't yet realized he was dealing with the female version of himself.
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen I need everyone to make their way to the auditorium. We will begin in promptly 10 minutes." A slim white man dressed in all black, holding a white plastic clipboard in his hand yelled into the meeting room as everyone turned and quieted down, a black earpiece securely attached to his left ear showed just how important he was. The auditorium was packed with Apple executives, fellow, and further business partners. A silhouette of Drake performing was pulled up on the screen towards the back of the stage, he was introduced and made his way to center of their view.
"Thank you!" The applauds continued for another few seconds before he began to speak. "I wanna say what an honor it is to be in this room with so many individuals that have changed the way in which the world relates to technology. So give yourselves a round of applause for that!"
A burst of clapping, hoots, and hollers broke out through the auditorium. Drake pulled his hands out his coat pockets to join in while nodding his head up and down showing his own appreciation for their hard work."For example, I bought this umm vintage Apple employee jacket, using a tool in the rap world known as thee umm internet. It's gonna be huge this year..... He's excited about it, he knows about it... That guy right there. Drake's sarcasm took over this speech naturally as a guy in the crowd cheered a little louder than everyone else. Drake turned to him pointing him out with a smirk and chuckling. "No, but uh, honestly in all seriousness I came here to share my story about the way technology changed what I do for a living." As Drake continued his speech he paced the length of the stage, he spoke clearly, using his hands for more emphasis on certain words. His speech was short but touched on what he was doing with Apple Music. There really was no reason for him to feel nervous, he naturally did what he always did. Once backstage he realized just how big of a deal this was and he was more than proud of himself about signing."Congratulations!" Tae said with a smile and wink, she raised her hand for a high five. He smiled and willing gave her one but interlocked his fingers with hers, he brought her hand to his lips and kissed the back of it.
"Thank you." He said winking back at her.
"We are... definitely in public..." She said pulling her hand from his and awkwardly laughing.
He laughed harder. "What's that supposed to mean." He playfully grabbed her hand again making her hold his.
"It means, there could be video footage of you kissing and holding my hand like we're on a damn dinner date." She said raising their hands that were interlocked with one another for him to see that his gesture in wanting to hold her hand wouldn't be unseen.
"Maybe I want there to be footage of me holding your hand." He said raising his eyebrows and mocking her. "Maybe I want people to think we're on a damn dinner date!" He continued with a smile.
