Tae's eyebrows frowned as she forced herself to open her eyes, she raised her right hand to rub her eyes, the clamp that measured her pulse was still clamped to her finger, the sound of steady beeping entered her ears as she looked around the room. She looked down to the left of her as Drake laid comfortable beside her, his arm still tightly wrapped around her, a faint smile graced her face.

She tried to shift her weight but her lower abdominal was soar. Drake lifted his head once he felt her shift next to him. He looked up at her, his eyes were dark and heavy she had never seen him look this sad. She smiled down at him but his face stayed the same, he was ridden with concern and it showed. Drake sat up and climbed from the bed, he stood on his feet but bent down and touched his head with Tae's.

"Don't scare me like that ever again, you hear me." He whispered to her as he stroked the side of her cheek with his thumb.

"I'll try not too." She whispered back, Drake pecked her lips multiple times as he closed his eyes.

"I'ma call the doctor in, so he can check on you." He finished as he kissed her lips one last time then stood up, walking towards the door.

Tae laid down and closed her eyes again, she ran her fingers through her thick hair and breathed out, a small tear trailed down the side of her cheek. For the first time, she felt helpless, for the first time she wasn't in control of her outcome and that frustrated her. She always had the answers and she could always fix everything, more tears ran down her face as she heard the door open she quickly whipped the tears from her face and slowly tried to sit up.

"Please, don't try to sit up."  The doctor demand as he put his hands up in front of him. He laid a metal clipboard on the end of the bed and pulled the wooden chairs that were pushed in the desk out, he sat down in front of her as he crossed his leg over the other. Drake sat on the nightstand that was next to the bed and grabbed Tae's left hand.

"Ms. Heckard, I wanted to ask you, have you ever been pregnant?" He spoke in a low tone but loud enough for the two of them to hear.

"No." She replied back, her voice raspy from not speaking for more than 24 hours.

"Ms. Heckard, you had a miscarriage. Now I want you to understand that this is not your fault, you are healthy, strong, and your body is responsive the way it is supposed to be." The doctor spoke as Tae shifted in the bed, her grip on Drake's hand became extremely tight.

"Most miscarriages occur during the first 20 weeks of a pregnancy..... You were 9 weeks pregnant." He continued, Tae's hand began to shake as it clung onto Drake's, he looked down at her and tightened his grip on her's to keep her hand steady.

"Your miscarriage was caused by a  genetic abnormality in the embryo, and because of that, your body did as it was supposed to and rejected the pregnancy...... Did you experience period like symptoms during the beginning of October?" He asked as he sat forward in the chair, Tae thought for a second.

"Yes, but it only lasted 3 days.... It was just spotting and small cramping.... I figured I got lucky this month and wouldn't have a heavy period." She answered back in the raspy voice, she continued looking at the doctor. He gave her a small smile, shaking his head up and down.

"Your period symptoms was your body trying to rid the miscarriage, your cramps were actually contractions that were working to expel the contents of your uterus, unfortunately your body didn't release everything and you experienced what we call a "missed" miscarriage.... Your body's only response was to bleed out until it got all the foreign tissue and clots out. You bled heavily which you were then brought here.... It became extremely dangerous for you at this point.... So surgery had to be done. A series of suction and scrapping had to be done on your uterus to remove the embryo..... Do you understand Ms. Heckard?" He asked Tae while looking her directly in the eyes. He remained leaning forward waiting for her response.

"Yes." She finally answered meeting his eyes.

"Do you have any other questions for me?" He asked as he looked between Tae and Drake. Drake looked down at Tae who was still looking at the Doctor.

"No, thank you.... For your help." She said back as she reached a handout, he smiled and stood up, he took Tae's hand in his. He released her hand and walked around the bed and shook Drake's hand then walked out of the room. Tae remained quiet as she looked forward, both hands at her side, her head dropped and she began to cry. Drake dropped to his knees to the side of her, he grabbed her cheeks as he began to whip the tears from her face.

" I'm sorry.... I didn't know, I couldn't tell..... I... I ... I didn't know..... I thought I just had food poisoning at first.... I'm sorry." She cried out as she tried to take big breathes of air, a large tear streamed down her face onto Drake's hands.

"Hey, hey, hey, it's not your fault, you didn't know baby, you don't need to be sorry, you didn't know." Drake said as he pulled her into him he kissed her lips in between his words. "I love you, it's going to be ok, do you hear me." He continued as he stood up and pulled her into his chest holding her he kissed the top of her head.

Tae was so wrapped up in emotions and balling her eyes out that she hadn't realized Drake just told her he loved her, and it wasn't like he was looking for her to say it back, it was how he felt, it hurt him that she was hurting. It hurt him that she was crying begging him not to be mad at her. It pulled his heart into multiple directions to see her in so much pain.

"I....I want .... To go home! I want to...to go....hooome... Please! I want to....go home. Please Aubrey.!" Her cries grew louder and stronger, and her breathing became shorter, as she begged him to take her home. She clung onto his shirt as if someone was trying to pull her away from him. The hospital was giving her anxiety, she felt a panic attack coming, after fully digesting the information the doctor gave her she felt as if the walls were closing in on her and she couldn't breathe.

"Ok ok ok ok, we'll go home. Breathe, breathe. We'll go home.......We'll go home." He said holding her tighter to his chest, as her big tears began to soak through his shirt.

The hospital insisted that Tae stay for another 24hours, but she refused, she wanted no parts of the hospital anymore and there was no changing her mind, so the hospital had no choice but to discharge her. Chubbs pulled in the parking garage of the hospital with a change of clothes. Forest green and white OVO Letterman jacket, a white t-shirt, and gray sweatpants.

Drake helped her get dressed, he pulled the sweatpants up her thighs, his jaw clenched and his eyebrows frowned as he noticed how swollen her lower stomach and the pelvic area was, small bruising began to form around the insides of her thighs. Drake closed his eyes to keep his emotions intact. He finished pulling her sweatpants up, then pulled her shirt over her head, and helped her put the jacket on. She pulled a black skullcap on top of her head.

As she made her way down the hospital hall, she dreaded going outside, she wasn't sure if paparazzi caught on to Chubbs pulling into a hospital. The paparazzi were great stalkers, some even waited outside of the gated community celebs lived in so they could follow them as they left their homes, and just because he was Drake's friend he was far-game. Wherever Chubbs was, Drake followed right behind.

The hospital door slid open the cool October air hit Tae in the face, for the first time she could breathe, Drake's hand went on her lower back as she walked the short distance to the SUV door. Her head went back on the headrest as she sat back in the seat, her eyes closed as she breathed in and out. Drake grabbed her hand and squeezed it, as she kept her eyes closed and her head back. She breathed out one last time.

"I love you too."
