"And you expect me to leave you alone?!" Drake stood in the doorway watching her move about the room, he eyed the large Asian inspired artwork inked down her ribs and thigh, Tae had managed to change into a second bathing suit as if she was doing her own fashion week in need of several wardrobe changes. This time an actual two-piece leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination, nothing that Drake hadn't seen before, and definitely everything he missed.
"Yes! Actually I do want you to!" She eyed him with a bit of a smile then pressed her lips together, flipping her hair behind her shoulder, she walked from one end of the room to the other and sat down on the couch. An Apple laptop open and two phones placed next to it, papers scattered all over the table.
"There you go, thinking you're me and working on vacation." He teased her and stepped into the room secretly admiring her dedication.
"Told you, Shod was the only one that wanted a free vacation." She said leaning back against the couch and putting her feet on the table, one of the phones in her hand, she began her process of typing out several emails.
"I assume he's enjoying the free vacation?" Drake replied as he raised a thick eyebrow.
"Yea, too much, he won't leave the beach says while we're here he's not my assistant anymore." She said rolling her eyes. "How's the video going?" She asked finally breaking away from the phone screen and making eye contact with him.
"Wrapped up." He simply said.
Tae smiled then turned her attention back to her phone. The space between them was mutual, an understanding that the space between them was a working process. He took a deep breath and took several steps to the couch and sat on the other end, she paid him no attention until she felt his soft hands wrap around her calf and pull her leg to him, causing her to twist her body. Tae frowned she kept her face tight, not sure if she wanted him touching her again, as he placed one foot in his lap and the other he still held in his hand, she began to relax as his fingers rubbed around her ankle and foot.
"So what's next?" She asked as she pulled the headphones from her head and placed them on the table. Drake knew all too well what this question meant, what she was asking. He smirked missing this moment in particular.
"More Life."
Tae looked intrigued, more interested in the two words. "More Life?" She repeated. "And that is?..."
"Next album." He said with a small smile.
"Album? What? Already?" Tae was clearly confused, people were still riding the wave that Views had made.
"Yea, already. Most of the songs are ones that didn't make Views, but... I just can't let them go unheard. There's so much music I recorded. It has to be released." This time it was Tae watching him intently while he spoke about his work, his fingers tips traced the lines of her tattoo on her foot, his hand reached further up her calf.
She closed her eyes and naturally let out a moan, not meaning to but her body couldn't help it. His hands made their way higher to her thighs grabbing the outside of them and pulling her down on the couch and under his body, locking her in his arms firmly pressed in the cushions on either side of her head, without hesitation he pressed his lips to hers spreading them open with his tongue. Everything had fallen into place as if the two hadn't been separated, her hands naturally framed the sides of his face pulling at his ears, one hand roaming the bottom half of her body as the other held himself above her, he pulled at the sides of her thong bikini slowly forcing his fingers between her thighs pulling her bottoms to the side.
"Clearly you missed me." He whispered in between kisses looking at her in the eyes.
"Don't flatter yourself, Aubrey." She growled back thrusting her hips up causing his fingers to touch inside of her again. He smiled at her silent gesture of wanting more of his touch.
"More Life. More Love. Only Good Vibes." The room was filled with raised glasses. It was always a cause for celebration, always a reason to be in good spirits, Drake's vibe and outlook on life matured drastically in two years, continuously breaking records and creating life long stories, with friends and family that appreciated his efforts. Relationships were mending and others were showing true colors but the good always outweighed the bad. To Drake, the glass was always half full, there was always a way around anything thrown at him.
Why can't we work it out my babe can't we try
You said our love would always stand the test of time
Why can't we work it out my babe can't we try
You said our love would always stand the test of time
The ending sample of a Mary J Blige song filled the room overtop the various conversations and laughs.
Tae smiled as his arms wrapped around her shoulders, his body swallowed hers whole while standing behind her, grateful for her presence he kissed the side of her cheek and moved one arm around the front of her stomach holding her tightly to his body in his grasp, leaning his face into the side of her neck unable to get enough of the way her hair and perfume fused perfectly together. Whether Tae and Drake were a fit for a lifetime or maybe just a couple to pass the time until something else came along or maybe the relationship was a muse for more music? Either way, it was up to everyone else to draw out their ending just like we did with any other celebrity and their personal life. Imagining who they are and who they aren't behind closed doors.
Maybe Drake wasn't this serial dater unable to figure out if what he wanted in life was really worth it, a guy that used his past relationships good or bad to help an ongoing generational door of teens and young adults get through their own rollercoaster of a relationship, using his experiences to connect with the people that lined up for his autographs, bought his clothing, lost their voices from screaming at concerts and the ones who kept his music on repeat. The fans that say they can't stand anything Drake did after 2011 and the ones that follow his every word.
Maybe Tae wasn't the stereotypical model, labeled as promiscuous by society because of her sexuality to both men and women. She didn't catch the eye of a rapper who happened to be holding a stack of 1's in his hand surrounded by a crew of jewelry wearing friends as the finest strippers in the city catered to him, she didn't sit in numerous interviews talking about the ins and outs of her personal life, nor did social media make her and break her. Born in Korea raised in the city we called the 'Concrete Jungle' who had seen Italy and Paris before she could legally drive a car, a woman that had walked the runways for designers of clothing we can't even pronounce. One that was well established, not needing the name of that rapper who happened to be holding a stack of 1's in his hand surrounded by a crew of jewelry wearing friends as the finest strippers in the city catered to him.
