Jade's POV

      I drummed my fingers on the table, waiting. 24 hours came and went, but still no call from either Porscha or Cameron. I had wanted to call Cameron as soon as the 24 hours were up, but Cleo convinced me not to and now I was at tea with my grandmother. She sat across from me, all put together as usual. Today, she was wearing a pastel pink skirt suit. Isn't she fancy? She even had a pink carnation adorning her blazer. She was currently enjoying her tea as if it were the most delightful thing on Earth.

     She looked at me. "Jadelynn, dear. You haven't touched your tea," she observed in a concerned tone. She set her teacup on the table. "You are probably wondering why I asked you to tea," she smiled.

        I looked up. "What?"

      "Pardon me," she corrected. She continued talking when I didn't say anything. "Originally I had wanted to talk to you about the debutant ball, and how you were coming to terms with life in England."

        "Mhmm," I murmured, wishing that she would just get to the point.

       "But then it came to my attention that you were responsible for the Westfall's boy discovering the truth about the Stonesworth's girl," she said in a stone cold voice. Her blue eyes pierced through me accusingly. "You had no business interfering in their affairs."

       I stopped drumming my fingers and looked her straight in the eye. "He knows?"

       She pressed her lips into a thin line before giving me a slight nod. "He was never supposed to."

        "He had the right to know, she's-" I asserted.

       "But that was not for you to decide," she interrupted. "Plans had been made to avoid a scandal and you just uprooted everything," she said. She was a calm sort of angry. "Do you understand how much damage control will have to be done, not only to their image, but to ours as well? I was patient with you when your father told me everything you had done. I was patient with you when you decided to 'disappear' for a couple of hours doing who knows what, but I shall not be patient now." She folded her arms on the table. "You will be going to Bowick Academy tonight." She raised her hand to silence any comments I was about to make. "I have made all the arrangements."

       My jaw dropped. "But I-"

       "Actions have consequences, my dear, and these are yours. Now drink up your tea."

       I picked up the teacup. "I did nothing wrong, you know," I stated. She barely looked up at me and we drank the rest of our tea in silence.

     "Goodbye, Jadelynn," my grandmother said as she walked me to the door where a burly red-haired man was standing with his arms crossed. "Alexander here, will make sure you actually go to Bowick academy."

      I groaned internally. Great, now I get a babysitter. "Goodbye, grandmother," I replied, matching her tone.

      I ran a hand through my hair, which I rarely ever did. It wasn't supposed to turn out like this, I thought to myself as I made my way to my car. I mean, I didn't have a plan as to how it was supposed to play out, but it wasn't supposed to play out like this. What a great way to show up to Cleo's party! I thought bitterly.

                                                     ~~~
       I heard the music blaring before I even saw the house. I had to park my car on the long road leading to the house, which was already packed with cars. Unfortunately, Alexander, who I'd tried to lose on the way here, managed to keep tabs on me and came too. Did he really have to do his job so well?
