Despite my anger, I managed to swipe Cameron’s keys off of him as I pushed past him. Stupid jerk. He nodded his cute little head and didn’t even give me any warning, he deserves to walk home. They all do, I ranted in my head as I turned on the engine. I programmed the GPS to my address, which thankfully, I had memorized. I sped and was pretty sure I’d get some tickets, but hey, it wasn’t my car.
When I got to the mansion, there were two vans parked in the driveway that said Kelly’s Kleaning Services and a red Porsche. Great, cleaning services, I thought to myself. I figured I’d avoid everyone by going inside through the kitchen. To my surprise, I saw my most favorite person in the world. Note the sarcasm. I sighed when I took in the wreck which was my sister. I so did not want to deal with her right now.
“I had nowhere else to go, OK?” she cried, making her already messed up make-up run even more. Even when she was sad, she still knew how to make me feel inadequate.
“Normally, this would be the point in which I’d kick you out, but since you look like a train wreck and I need some good karma, you get one more try. What’s wrong?”
She pouted, but then rolled her eyes at me. “Aren’t you even going to offer me a box of tissues?” she sniffled.
“Fine. Here. Knock yourself out,” I said grabbing a box of tissues from the counter and handing them to her.
“They’re not scented,” she wailed as she sniffed them.
I gave her a look that told her not to push my buttons. I had already had Will issues today.
“Well you know Mr. Lawson?” she said, dramatically dabbing her eyes. I nodded. “Well, our ‘date’ was actually an ‘introduce your fiancée’!” she whined.
Really? This is what she came to my house crying over? A guy she barely knew who was engaged?! I thought to myself as my sister wailed on.
“And I was just so embarrassed,” she continued.
She’s definitely a pro attention whore, I thought to myself as I took a deep breath.
“I guess we both have boy troubles then,” I said. I was not going to get sucked into her drama because the only one that got hurt in the end was me.
“Can’t you be a little more compassionate?” she yelled through her tears.
“I have problems too OK?! Will is in the hospital and I thought me and him would finally get together again only to find out that there was another girl. As usual,” I added bitterly.
She stopped crying for a bit and dabbed her eyes some more. “Oh. I- I didn’t know.”
“Well you would if you’d bothered to ask me.”
“Sorry.”
We sat in a comforting silence for a while.
The silence was broken by Ashley stumbling into the kitchen. She squinted her eyes at us. “Either you guys are uglier than I remember or I’m seeing things,” she said as I she walked over to the fridge. “I’m going with the first o-” she stopped midsentence when she realized I was sitting with trainwreck Alice.
