Chapter Four

Peter

I walk into my last period of the day, gym. In 7th period I watched Percy get screamed at because he corrected the teacher in Latin. School got a lot more exciting with him around. I mean he's a great fighter. I wonder if I could recruit him for my team.

I walk into the gym with my uniform on. All my friends are in this class so it will be fun.

"Ok class, today we will be climbing ropes," the gym teacher explains. Time to fail. I know what you're thinking, I'm Spiderman how could I fail climbing ropes? The thing is I need to keep my cover, so I pretend to be bad at things that would target me as Spiderman.

We line up to climb one of the three ropes hanging from the ceiling. Luke, Danny, and Ava easily climb to the top. Sam struggles about three quarters of the way. I get about two feet off the ground, then slip and fall. Finally, it's Percy's turn. He shoots up the rope, then climbs back down in a record breaking time. Even the gym teacher, who loves Flash, looks impressed.

"That was amazing kid!" the coach shouts running over to Percy. They start talking and I see Percy shake his head. Coach must be trying to get Percy on his football team, that's never going to work. He seems like a generally nice kid, I wonder why he has so many detentions?

Finally, Percy walks over to us, and Coach continues class. "What was that all about?" Luke asks.

"He wanted me to join the football team," Percy says.

"What'd you say?" Sam asks.

"No of course!" Percy exclaims.

"Great, for a second I thought you were going over to the side of the big burly bullies," I exclaim. Percy snorts at this.

"Big burly bullies!" He laughs, then get serious. "Guess what?" he asks.

"What?" I reply.

"You're supposed to guess!" He exclaims then continues, "My best friends from camp are coming!"

"Who are they?" Ava asks.

"Well there's my cousins Jason, Thalia, Nico, and Hazel. Then Jason's friends Piper, Calypso, and Leo. Next, Hazel's friend Frank. And finally, my friends Rachel, Grover, and Annabeth," Percy explains.

"Where are transferring from?" MJ asks.

"Well Jason, Thalia, Piper Hazel, Frank, and Nico are from different parts of California. Then Leo is from Texas. Next, Grover and Annabeth are from Long Island. And finally, Rachel is from NYC," he says.

"That's a lot of people!" Sam exclaims.

"Yeah, they're my best friends from camp," Percy says.

"So, when are they coming?" I ask.

"Tomorrow is their first day, they would've started today, but the plane got delayed," Percy explains.

"Oh," I reply. We go into the locker rooms and change out of our uniforms. We wait in the hallway for the bell to ring.

Soon, the bell rings and we all run to our lockers. I do my combo, grab my homework for Biology, Latin, English, Math, and Social Studies. I sling my backpack over my shoulder and walk over to Percy. He's puling his skateboard out of his locker.

"So, see you tonight?" I ask.

"As long as the flight isn't late, you'll meet my friends too," he says.

"Bye," I say as Percy walks to one of the detention room.

"Bye," he waves as he walks in. I meet up with Sam, Danny, Luke, and Ava as we walk to the other detention room that leads to the training room. Time to be the Ultimate Spiderman.
