Chapter Sixteen

Peter

"Uh homework, I hate homework!" Bucket Head complains. He walks over to Ava.

"Sorry buddy, I already tried that," I say smirking at his efforts.

"Ava, will you help me with my homework?" Sam says attempting to make a puppy dog face.

"No, I already told Peter that," Ava retorts.

"Denied," I smirk.

"Oh, you think that's funny Spidey," Sam smirks.

"It's on Bucket Head!" I grin.

"Boys!" Aunt May says walking into the room, "What are you doing?"

"Nothing Aunt May," I say quickly sitting down. I start on my homework, silently fuming. How could Omega hack into S.H.I.E.L.D.? I mean S.H.I.E.L.D. has the most high-tech security system in the world, how could it happen?

"How do you think Omega hacked into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s security system?" I ask once Aunt May left for bridge.

"They could have the best hacker in the world," Luke suggests.

"They could have an insider," Sam says.

"Persistence is the key to success," Danny says mysteriously.

"Yeah yeah yeah, we know Danny," I say. We brainstorm new ideas all night until we go to bed.

The next morning I wake up. "Saturday!" I shout pumping my fist in the air. I quickly get dressed and run downstairs eager to start the day. I scarf down breakfast and rush outside.

"Don't forget to do your chores," Aunt May says as I open the door.

"Uh," I groan closing the door and walking to collect the trash.

Once I finally managed to shove the overflowing garbage into the can I ran off to the Helicarrier. I arrived late to an angry Fury yelling at the team, "Parker, you're late!" he screams starting to pace.

"Sorry," I mutter.

"Sorry sir," Fury corrects.

"There's no need to call me sir," I say confidentially before realizing what I said.

"What'd you say?" Fury demands.

"Um...nothing," I say ashamed.

"That's what I thought," Fury says before continuing to pace. "I need you to detain Omega today."

"But sir we already tried," Ava says, everyone could hear the unsaid "and we failed".

"Well our tech team invented some inhibitor handcuffs that should inhabit Omega's mutant powers," Fury says producing nine handcuffs from an unknown agent. Danny takes the handcuffs and we all stand there awkwardly.

"Um sir, anything else?" Luke asks.

"No get out my sight!" Fury yells as we scramble for the exit.

"Ok guys, we should split up to cover more ground. Luke you get the Upper East Side, Danny Upper West, Ava Midtown, Sam Upper Manhattan, and I'll get the Brooklyn," I order before we split.

I swing to Brooklyn and start my search, looking for anything that might attract the attention of a superhero. I follow police car after police car, and stop petty thief after petty thief. "Got anything?" I ask after an hour of searching.

"Nope," Luke replies first.

"Nothing," Ava and Danny say at the same time.

"No," Sam says.

"Well keep looking," I say
