Chapter Nine

Percy

Seriously, all want to do is protect the city, but no. We also have to get hunted down by superheroes. I got ready, Spiderman had just challenged us to a fight, and we weren't going to lose. We out numbered them eight to five already, not to mention the fact that we're the best fighters the demigods have. So yeah, they're pretty reckless.

I look to my right. Annabeth has her dagger ready, Jason is hovering above the ground with his gladius ready, Piper has her dagger ready, and Nico is pulling out his Stygian Iron sword. To my left Frank has his bow ready, Hazel has her spatha out, Leo's hands are on fire, and Thalia has her knifes ready. The gods blessed all our weapons so that they only harm mortals if we want them to, and right now we really want them to.

I grab out Riptide, my sword, and thrust my hand out. A geyser of water shoots up, rocketing the fire hydrant in the air. The water comes in front of me and freezes, forming a shield of ice.

The sky darkens as much as it can during the night, and a storm starts brewing. Thunder shakes the sky and lightning crackles as the electricity in the air increases. I see Jason and Thalia both concentrating on it.

"Charge!" Spiderman shouts as his team runs forward. We automatically break up and take on opponents. I take on Spiderman by myself. Leader verses leader. Annabeth takes on White Tiger, Frank and Jason take on a flying Nova, Thalia and Nico take on Power Man, and Piper and Hazel take on Iron Fist.

Spiderman swings up on top of a building with his web when I try to whack him with my sword.

I use the water in the air to Vapor Travel behind Spidey, and tackle him to the ground. I then trap his legs in a block of ice so he is immobilized.

I carry the squirming Spiderman and place him on the sidewalk. I check on the rest of the team's progress. Nova is tied down looking slightly dazed, White Tiger has scratches all over her arms and is unconscious, Power Man is dazed looking and is tied down, and Iron Fist is stuck part way in the sidewalk looking confused at how he got there.

"So Spidey, that should show you to never mess with us again," I say threateningly. We all Shadow/Vapor Travel back to the apartment, and get ready for school tomorrow.

The next morning I wake up sore. I get ready for school and go to the kitchen. Me being me was the last one up, so I had cereal because someone ate the last cinnamon roll.

"Percy, can you drive me to school?" Annabeth asks poking her head into the kitchen.

"Sure," I reply. I look at the clock for a time check, 7:25. Holy Hera, school starts in twenty minutes!

I ran upstairs to grab my backpack and textbooks, then I ran to the garage where Annabeth was waiting.

We hop in my blue sports car and I drive us to school. Once we arrive I jump out lock the car, and sprint to my locker. It's on the second floor next to the biology lab. Once at my locker I see Peter.

"Parker!" I shout. He turns towards me and waves, then walks over.

"Did you hear the news?" he asks as I grab my biology stuff.

"No, what happened?" I ask even though I already knew.

"Well Omega beat Spiderman's team last night," He answers.

"Really?" I ask a mask of surprise on my face.

"Yep," he replies.

"That's awesome, I like Omega way better," I exclaim as the bell rings.

We enter the classroom and begin a boring day of learning, but in my mind I was grinning. Omega was even awesome than I imagined! Everyone was talking about them! I even heard they're making Omega action figures! This is going to be an exciting year!
