The palace courtyard looked absolutely beautiful. The twin fountain appeared to have been frozen in animation and the glass windows seemed to have a touch of frost covered on it. And yet the temperature was normal and the just outside the sun was burning brightly shining down on the back of his neck. He saw little children skating on a particular area of the yard having no care in the world. As he looked around, amazed, a female voice cleared her throat from behind him and startled , he spun around to face a woman's pale face just inches away from his. As her sky blue eyes stared into his he blinked and with a jolt, realized how close he was standing to this woman. " I apologize for intruding on your personal space..... and...For every moment after... ....umm Mrs. ..? " he apologised as he backed up a few feet as he straightened his back and pushed his chest out, as his mother had taught him to do countless times on the journey here. Before she could answer him, the chubby man who had guided him on towards the castle from earlier appeared by his side smiling. " Ah I see that you have met our queen already. " Hiccups eyes widened in shock for a moment.So this was Elsa. He had just almost bumped into the queen on his first day here. Talk about bad first impressions. With raised eyebrows at hiccup's confusion which , he realized had shown on his face a bit too late, the man turned to the queen and spoke, in a polite manner, " should I show his highness Haddock III to his room ? " ." No that's quite alright. I am the host and I think I'm capable enough to do that job myself. But thank you Kai. " she thanked the man, Kai, as she turned to face hiccup. " I thank you again, king haddock for taking the time to visit our kingdom. I hope we can strengthen our bonds during your stay here In Arendelle. Do you require me to show you to your quarters? As I recall, your quarters has the ability to serve five guests. Will they be joining you later.? " inured Elsa. Then, with a jolt , he remembered that his mother, astrid and snotlout were wandering around the palace with snotlout and astrid doing who-knows-what. He swallowed hard , cleared his throat and replied " Uhhh. Yeah. As a matter of fact, they seem to have went on ahead of me. If you'll excuse me ,your highness, I need to go find them.". "Of course. And there's no need to address me as your majesty. You yourself are of royal lineage , am I correct? Of Stoick the vast? ( hiccup gulped as she mentioned his father) we are equals. So please. Address me as simply - Queen Elsa.". "Yes , my queen ." He chimed. " I hope to see you at dinner king Hiccup. And also, I shall send one of my staff to help you get to the ballroom. There have been instances where my guests have gotten lost in the corridors. "she replied. Feeling sligjtly queasy, he nodded .Smiling , she bowed her head slightly to take leave and spun around and walked towards the castle doors.
