James walks up the stairs and gives us a weird look, we look up at him laughing as we lay here on the floor in the middle of the hall at the top of the stairs. It's been about 30 minutes since Colton and I had our laugh attack and we still haven't gotten up off the floor.

I look up at James and roll on my back off Colton's chest, "heeyy." I say with a smile. James kept me calm last night, he helped me a lot like my own father did when he was around.

He smiles and waves his finger tips at us, "hey you two." He steps over us heading to his bedroom, "no sex on my carpets you have beds for that shit!" He adds before stepping into the bedroom with a smirk across his face.

Colton burst up laughing as I turn bright red, like wow I can't believe he said that! "Hahah, your so adorable when you blush." Colton says as he leans forward and kiss my lips then pulls me to my feet. As I follow him down the stairs I slide my hands into his front pocket hugging his back, I feel a small box, rectangular shaped. Colton freeze mid step as my hand slide over the pack, I recognized the material. "When did you start smoking?" I ask pressing my arms to his sides as I swing around now standing in front of him my hand sliding the pack of cigarettes out from his pocket.

"I had for 2 years but I quit for about 6 months.. But then yesterday I kinda started again..." He drifted off. It was then it hit him that I recognized the pack with out seeing it, he looked up and asked "wait, how did you know it was cigarettes before you even saw the box?" I bit my lip as I turned the Marbro red 100s over and over in my hand.

"I hadn't told you cause I didn't want you to shame me like everyone else I ever told, but I smoke.. It's my way of reliving stress and how I look at it is I mean yah it's bad for you but would you rather have me put a blade to my wrist or a cigarette to my mouth? Cause either way ones gonna happen, and either way no matter what in the end we all die anyway.." I said while looking at the floor then I laughed and looked up to him as he moved a stray hair back to its place, "funny thing is, we share the same brand."

He smiled cupping my face in his hand pulling my chin up lightly giving me a kiss. He then said "I love you baby, and even if I didn't smoke I wouldn't shame you, because yah what you said is true and I much rather you smoke then cut, and in the end we do all die. I like your logic and I smoke because it relives my anger and relaxes me. It helps me sleep sometimes."

I smile and open the pack counting the cigarettes, he has only smoked two from this pack. I look up sheepishly and ask ," want to have one? Cause the day we moved me over here I totally forgot to pack my packs from under my bed.." I bit my lip drifting off.

He chuckled and pulled me up to the stair step he was on giving me a kiss then said "yeah come on." I smiled and skipped up behind him to the back door.

Once we step outside through the glass sliding door. The back yard was simple with a off the ground deck, in the middle of the yard was a trampoline and to the side was a little built in pond, it was off and ran dry with only rain water settled in the bottom, ' it must of been here before they moved in' I had thought to myself.

I take a seat next to Colton in the lawn chairs set up on the deck, he reaches out for the pack and I hand it to him. He opens it grabbing two then sliding it back into his front pocket, then grabs the lighter set out on the ledge of the deck,"it's my moms lighter she always forgets it out here." He says simply, the cigarette shakes in his mouth as he talks, I nod my head and watch as he brings it up cupping the flame with his left hand and lighting the cigarette.

He inhales then exhales taking the cigarette between his fingers and hands me mine then the lighter. I repeat his actions. As the flame brushes the end I inhale taking in the smoke loving the light feeling it gives my body, I drop my hand that has the lighter taking the cigarette in the other taking it from my mouth and exhaling with a loud sigh of relief as if I could physically see all the weight and stress leave with that smoke. I smile.
