Gus parks the car in front of a massive house with a front yard covered with people holding red solo cups filing in and out of the music blaring house, my eyes widen as I step out of the car closing the door behind me.Jess and Kasy join my side with the same mask expressions of shock and excitement. Gus comes to our side of his car looking from the house to our faces laughing as he waves his hand forward "come on." He says walking towards the house, he explains "it's my buddies Josh house lets just say he's well off." I scuff "you don't say." Gus just shoots a smirk over his shoulder at me as we step inside the house.
There's even more people inside the massive house, scattered all over, on the stairs, in the living room, on the area made into a dance floor, in the kitchen, every where you looked there was people. I don't like big groups of people it makes me anxious especially when it's this many of people I don't know, I knew we were coming to a party but I didn't except this, this was too much.
I shake my head as my breathing picks up while walking backwards when Jess takes me hand and pulls me to her side whispering in my ear, "it's ok baby girl, please don't leave." Jess is one of the only people who know about my social anxiety, I look her in the eyes chewing my lip thinking it over as Gus and Kasy break off in front of us completely oblivious to what was happening. "It's ok I have you it'll be ok I promise." She says once more and with those words I let my fingers intertwine with hers as my shoulders relax.
I give her a smile and nod my head, she smiles back before guiding us through the crowded floor into the kitchen where Kasy and Gus stand pouring drinks and talking. Kasy throws back her head with laughter touching Gus arm, she flirting, as if Jess read my mind her eyes locked with mine as we both rolled out eyes then giggle. "What you guys giggling about over there?" Gus asks gaining our attention his eyes glance at mine and her hands and back to my eyes causing heat to rise through my cheeks. "Oh nothing." Jess says in an innocent little girl voice causing me to smile.
Gus hands me a red solo cup with clear liquid filling it, "Vodka, how'd you know?" I ask as I take a sip of one of the few alcoholic beverages I actually like. He chuckles while pointing his thumb back behind him towards Kasy, "you have a good friend over here she made sure I knew what you liked what you hated and what makes you crazy." He winks causing me to hit his arm "perv!" I laugh. Jess gets her self a cup of vodka as well, she's the one that made me fall in love with the drink.
We wondered around taking turns dancing on the area made into the dance floor we were all laughing in the back of the living room when a tall slim but muscular guy came walking up to Gus, the guy was about 2 inches taller then my brother I noticed as they did a weird hand shake that ended with them snapping.
"Ey Josh, this is my little sister Alex." He introduced me I smile at the oh so famous Josh taking his hand that was out stretched before me, "nice to met you, I love your house." I say politely letting my hand fall back into Jess grasp when he lets go, "the pleasure is all mine I've heard lots about you, and thanks it's mostly my dads but he's never in town so he lets me do whatever and live here." I smile 'he's heard lots about me? Gus talks about me?' I feel warm and smile at Gus and he smiles back.
"Anyway this is her friends Jess and Kasy." Kasy welcome Josh with a hug and Jess just nods and smiles not leaving my side. Josh invites us upstairs and we all follow not before me and Jess stop to refill our cups then make our way up the stairs, we follow close behind Gus, Kasy, and Josh. I lean into Jess when she pushes my hair to the left side kissing my neck as we walk down the hall, I bite my lip giggling as I grab on to her bare hips resting my head on her shoulder when suddenly everyone turned into a room causing us to break apart except for our hands. Jess winks at me causing me to blush as we walk into the room.
As we stepped into the room we were rushed with smoke that filled the room. It was a mixture of cigarettes and something else I didn't recognize.
Josh lead us to a sectional black leather couch that had a faded and peeling awning set in front of it, Jess sat against the arm rest and I sat beside her, Gus beside me, Kasy beside him and Josh sat in a chair on the other side of the awning. Gus leaned into my shoulder his breathe heavy with scotch as he whispered "have you ever smoked pot before?" I shake my head looking up at Jess cause I knew she does, "have you ever wanted to try it?" He ask.
I didn't really know the answer to that Jess was the only person I have ever been around while they were high and she seemed pretty happy, we always had the best nights when she was high and she always said it'd be better if I smoked to but she never rushed it and never asked if I wanted to smoke. She would just say if you ever want to try it let me know.
Jess rubs my knee and up my thigh then back down again, the look in her eyes tells me I should try it but it isn't a pushing it, and Gus eyes just look curious like he really would enjoy this experience with his sister.
"Why not." I smile causing Gus to grin ear to ear and Jess smile as she nudges my neck with her nose giggling as her breathe tickles my skin, I giggle snuggling into her, "you guys are too cute." Gus says smiling at us then looks over to Kasy and ask "what about you? You smoke?" She nods her head with a wicked smile played across her face I sit up leaning my elbows on my knees to look at Kasy "since when?" I ask confused. I knew Jess but Kasy?
"Me and Jess have been friends for 4 years Alex you seriously think she didn't get me smoking?" I look at Jess and she just smirks shrugging her shoulders, I laugh then sit back up. "So everyone smoking?" Josh asks and I follow Gus eyes from me to Jess to Kasy he smirks nodding his head as he says "looks like it."
Josh smiles and says "cool lets get this on the road then." He pulls a small sliver latch box from under the awning, unclips the lock pulling out about a 6 inch tall cycler container, I raise my eyebrow at it. Jess notices laughing then whispers "it's a grinder." I mouth 'oh' as heat rises through my cheeks with embarrassment.
She rubs my back as she nibbles my ear lobe then whispers, "it's ok baby girl your new to this." I smile.
There's a first time for everything.
