I get home and start putting the groceries away. I don't have much to do today. I just have to go by the store, handle a few things there then come back home.
I honestly need to find something to do. CeCe decided just to start school next semester when she goes to Cal Northridge, so I've had her here to keep me company when she's not at therapy, helping out at the store or meeting up with her friends that go to college here.
As I'm putting the groceries away, someone rings the doorbell. I go answer it and it's a guy standing with a big bouquet of roses and big box of expensive chocolate.
"Can you sign this for me?" He asks.
"Sure."
I sign and hand him the clipboard as he hands me the roses, followed by the chocolate.
"Have a good day ma'am."
"Thanks. You too."
"Colin Rand Kaepernick....you sweet, sweet man." He makes it so hard to stay mad at him.
I sit the roses on the island in the kitchen and read the little note that's attached.
Violets are blue.
Roses are red.
I've taken into account, everything that you've said.
Please forgive me for I have done wrong.
I love you, my loving wife, and my children's wonderful mom. That was the cutest, yet cheesiest thing I've ever seen...coming from him...and we've had tons of cute and cheesy moments. I send him a text.
Me: Thank you for my roses.
Hubby😘: You're welcome, Love.
Me: The card was even better.
Hubby😘: Thanks. Took me a while to come up with that.
Me: Btw. It's roses are red, violets are blue...
Hubby😘: Yeah, but that woulda fucked up the whole poem...and I didn't wanna do that. I'm tired of fuckin up...
Me: Good, I'm glad.
Hubby😘: So you forgive me.
Me: Yes baby, I forgive you.
Hubby😘: What time you goin up to the store...maybe I can swing by and pick you up for lunch if you go around that time.
Me: I'd love that😊
Hubby😘: Cool. I'll stop by around 12:30..and we'll go eat.
Me: see you then.
Hubby😘: Okay. I love you❤️
Me: I love you more.
I finish putting the groceries up and watch a little TV. I hear the door open and I figured it's just CeCe.
"Are those your roses in the kitchen?" She asks walking into the living room.
"Yeah...daddy sent them."
"Why, what'd he do?"
"Oh nothing.."
"You sure..because Dylan said you were being 'mean' to him the other morning...and the only reason you're ever 'mean' to him is when he screws up....so. What'd he do?"
"Our dinner date that we had planned that night, he forgot to look at his watch and kinda forgot about it."
"Ohhhh dad."
"I know...but I think I've let him sweat it out enough..it's time to forgive him."
"Good for you. Hey I have a question though...can you ask dad to hook me up with some tickets to the Niners and Giants game for this weekend?"
