{Colin's POV}

The next morning I wake up, look at my phone and it's almost 10:30.

"Fuck." I groan as I realize I missed Demi's appointment. I sit up and rub my head. I send a quick text to Demi.

Me: Good morning. Sorry I didn't make it this morning. I'm just now waking up!

Demi: It's okay.

Me: Okay. Thanks for dinner last night. I had a really good birthday because of you and the kiddos.

Demi: You're welcome. I had a good time.

I'm think Lori has already left for work, but she surprises me when she walks into the livingroom. She doesn't look happy either and I don't blame her.

"Listen, before you go off on me.."

"Are you sleeping with her?"

"What?" I say with a confused face.

"Don't play stupid with me, Colin. Are you fucking her?"

"Demi?"

"Who else?"

"No. I'm not fucking her. I spent last night with my kids the whole time."

"They could have come over, Colin. They've always had."

"You seriously bitchin about this right now. I told you I'm not fuckin her, so what are you mad for."

"I wanted to surprise you with a nice dinner for us and maybe with your children, and you're off having dinner with your wife and kids."

"I'm sorry."

"What hold does she have on you?"

"What the hell Lori?"

"I'm not stupid. It's been what, a year since we've been together? You're always running whenever she calls..."

"She's the mother of my children, what the hell do you expect." I say cutting her off.

"Did you see me dropping everything for Erikson's father. I knew my role and I knew where the boundaries were. You haven't even filed for a divorce. What are you waiting on?"

I knew she'd bring this up one day and honestly I don't have an answer for her. Well, I don't have an answer she'd like.

"You're pathetic. You know that."

"How, how am I pathetic, huh? Haven't I given my all in this relationship? I've done any and everything for you."

"I didn't ask you to do a damn thing for me."

"Yeah, but I did it because I care for and love you. And I've shown that. So what I do for Demi or my kids shouldn't bother you at all because it doesn't effect what I do and give to you."

"Whatever...I gotta go to work" she walks off and I pull her back.

"Hold on, we not done."

"Well I am."

"Done with what?" I ask, thinking that she's saying she's done with more than just the conversation.

"With the conversation. If you're gonna continue to spew bullshit then I don't wanna hear it."

"How is anything that I just said bullshit. I'm being honest with you...you know what fuck it. Take ya ass to work. I'll be gone by the time you get back tonight."
