It was all a dream

Lily's Pov
I woke up around 5:30, my room was dark, I turned on my phone light and looked at my leg, no cast, phew, it was all just a dream. I was already up anyways so I quietly got dressed and went out to the living room to find Mark sound asleep. I heard a door shut from down the hall, it was Jack. He had a mug in his hand, I could smell his black coffee. "Lily? What are you doing up?" He asked, "Oh I had a nightmare" he gave me a worried look "you doing okay?" He put his other hand on my shoulder. I nodded "Yeah, I'm fine" he nodded while taking a sip of his coffee. "Lily, is something wrong? You know you can talk to me honey, I'm here for you" I looked into his blue eyes, "I don't even know if some things wrong anymore" he gave me a confused look
"What do you mean? Lily, its okay to talk to me, you can tell me if somethings wrong" he said in a calm soothing voice.

"Jack, can I trust you?"

"Yes, of course you can trust me"

"Will you protect me? I asked

"Lily, that's what a father is, he's there to protect his children no matter what the cost, even if it means risking my life. You know that I love you and I will always love you" he kneeled down and hugged me, I hugged him back burying my face into his chest. "Jack"

"Yes?"

"You smell like coffee" I said. He chuckled "I know" he said laughing. I didn't want to let go if Jack, I wanted him to hold forever, but nothing lasts forever.
