Chapter 3-

Cathie's POV~

I finally got the text from my aunt saying they were here so I gathered up my magazine I had purchased, my phone, and my suitcase and left the train station. The train station where one whole hour ago I saw him for the first time.

I've decided to call him John, John Doe. Because I never got his name, or number, and that's what hospitals call people that they don't know the names of. I don't know why but the way his voice sounded so familiar has had me puzzled this entire time! I normally let this kind of thing slide but for some reason I just can't. Oh well I'll have enough time this weekend to ponder it.

As soon as I get to the sidewalk I see my uncle's gold SUV parked on the side of the road, waiting for me. I quickly put my suitcase in the back and take a seat.

As soon as the giant car starts to move, and the people begin to wisk by in slight blurs my aunt turns around in her seat next to my uncle. She asks me with a smile on her face " how was the ride darlin'?" I look back at her with a smile to match hers " it was great I think I slept the entire way though" she lets out a little laugh. It's a great laugh. It suits her she's so kind and caring and it shows in her laugh. The way her eyes crinkle up at the sides. I wish I could be like her and my uncle ,carefree and happy all the time.

She turns back around " that's good. Now we can stay up all night watching movies!" I laugh at her excitement. Sometimes I feel she acts more like a cousin than an aunt.

We turn off the main road onto a dirt path that will take us straight to the cabin that will be my home for the next two days. I feel so relieved as I look out the window and instead of seeing buildings, people, and newsstands I see beautiful oak, maple, and many other kinds of trees. With their leaves different colors surrounding us it's like I'm in a dream.

When Uncle stops the car I quickly grab my belongings and run up the steps to the huge wrap around porch, and wait eagerly at the door for them. When they finally unlock the door I take a look around. It's an amazing house. With comfy leather couches and a flat screen tv in the living room and enough woodsy decor to make you remember u are still in the middle of the woods, and the perfect kitchen made for Rachel Ray with a homey touch also,, I just love it!

When I walk into the kitchen I am delighted to see a huge plate of chocolate chip cookies on the table. I pick up one, putting it in my mouth all at once sighing as the rich chocolate melts on my tongue. My aunt Becky makes the best chocolate chip cookies know to man kind! I turn around to see Lenny, aunt Becky and uncle Adâm's golden retriever, looking at me with his head cocked slightly to the side. He's so adorable! I mock him and after a while of just staring at each other he finally caves and jumps up onto me giving me great big slobbery kisses all over my face. I laugh which only causes his gross dog tongue to enter my mouth , barely, for just a second. That's enough for me though. I drop him and start rubbing at my tongue like a maniac. Deciding that wasn't good enough I rush to the sink turning on the water and letting the sweet water run across my lips into my mouth as it gets rid of the awful taster of Lenny. Don't get me wrong, I love Lenny and all dogs, but when their tongue enters my mouth I'm out!

When I'm finally satisfied I turn around to chase Lenny but instead of seeing Lenny I see Uncle Adâm standing up against the door frame trying- and failing - to hold in his laughter.

"What?" I retort, crossing my arms and looking crossly at him

"Oh nothing.." He just can't help himself and he lets his laughter roam freely. It's loud and booming just like his personality. When he start bending over clutching his stomach, face all red, that's when I join in with my own laugh. Mines nothing special so we won't dwell on it.
