Chapter 20~

Cathie's POV~

"I'll see you tomorrow." Aaron leaned in and kissed me on the forehead.

I tensed, but kept the smile on my face. "Yep, don't forget to pick me up!"

He smiled back at me, "I won't, two o'clock?" I nodded.

He walked out the door and got in the taxi. I closed the door as soon as he pulled onto the street.

As I turned around I saw an angry-looking Harry staring at me. His arms crossed in front of him, eyebrows pulled together.

"What are you looking at?" Putting my hands on my hips.

"You! I can't believe you would fall for that!" he threw his hands up in the air angrily.

"Fall for what?! A-"

"You know damn well he hasn't changed!" He pointed his index finger at me accusingly.

"How would you know?! You just met him today!" I crossed my arms over my chest and raised a single eyebrow at Harry.

"I just can!" He threw his hands up in the air.

"Well, why do you even care?!"

"Because he's not the right guy for you!"

I was about to reply to him, but was interrupted by a voice. "What's all this arguing about you two?" I peeked around Harry-who had turned his head around to look at the person. My heart dropped to my stomach and I had a hard time taking a breath.

Louis was standing by the end of the hall, looking between us. "Nothing." Harry replied with venom in his voice.

Louis gave his best friend a puzzled expression before walking towards us.

He came up next to me and looked me in the eyes. "Is everything alright?"

Oh my gosh, his eyes were killing me. They were so full of worry, and concern for me. I felt sick. I pressed my lips together and gave him a sharp nod.

I don't think he bought it, because he turned to Harry. And, with as much venom as Harry had had in his voice, Louis asked him. "What is this all about?"

Harry remained collected as he told Louis, matter-of-factly, " You missed it. Cathie's ex -Aaron- made an appearance. He came in, asked Cathie on a date. She accepted."

Louis turned his head in my direction, his mouth opened slightly and his eyes hurt.

Louis's POV~

I don't believe him. Cathie wouldn't do something like that, but her expression proved me wrong.

To say I'm hurt is an understatement. I'm upset, furious with this Aaron guy, and crushed.

"Cathie..." I tried, but she just shook her head and took a step forward.

I blocked her path by stepping in front of her. "Louis, move." Her voice was rigid with ice. I was shocked so I stepped aside.

I had to try. "Why?"

Cathie stopped walking. She stood facing the hallway for a moment before turning towards me. "Because I can't wait around for some stupid guy to notice what's right in front of him." Her eyes flicked upwards and met mine.

Her eyes cut right down to my soul-so broken and sad- and I can't help but think that I'm the reason.

I needed to hold her, to kiss her. I needed to rid those tears from her eyes, and to let her know how I feel.
